Hey folks. I'd like to add a little safety to the power inverter in the truck (I figure that 2 MIC parts are better than just one. LOL). I was looking at digital inline fuse holders on FleaBay. Some looked nice, but all of them seem to light up/display whenever they get power. It'd be nice to be able to switch the display on or off (easy enough to modify, if I find the right one). The setup thus far is: BATT -----> INVERTER (built-in fuse protection). I'd like to go: BATT ------> INLINE DIGITAL FUSE ----> INVERTER. If anyone has any suggestions, please post up. Links are always appreciated.
Kevan, I passed this on to the audio guy on the Rumble bee site i will let you know what he tells me.
"Hey Keith, Tell your friend Kevan.... he should definitely have a fuse between the battery and the power inverter. The fuse should be as close to the battery as possible. He really doesn't need a digital one unless that's what he wants. Any kind of basic fuse holder would be fine. He can purchase basic ones from any kind of automotive parts store (Kragen, Napa, etc.) or a stereo shop. We primarily use Stinger and Tsunami fuse holders and they have basic, non-digital and digital ones as well. Let me know if he has any questions or is looking to purchase anything. Hope this helps. Thanks, Jesse"
Thanks Keith, and please thank Jesse for me. I'll look around and stick with the Tsunami ones. My plan was to put it about 10" - 12" from the (+) battery post. I think that will be close enough. I like the digital type just so I have a quick visual confirmation of voltage. I would, however, like to be able to switch the display on and off.
If you need a "GOOD" in line fuse holder let me know I have 2 at my house I can send you one. They are MAX fuse holders from minutemen http://www.audiooutfitter.com/fuse-...chType=&searchVal=&sortby=description&sorthow=
Thanks Ron, but I wouldn't buy a cup of dirt from Monster Cable. Their policy regarding name infringement and subsequent lawsuits was/is appalling. Thanks for the offer CentralTex. I'll keep it in mind.
