Well I finally made it to the track and on the 62N20 29Fuel jets have run a 11.92,11,72 and 11.79. The little lady wanted to give it a try and raced a Ford Shelby and ran a 12.04. All MPHs have been in the area of 115.0-115.7 and Im having terrible 60fts of 1.80-1.88. On the dyno the rig made 490RWHP 550RWTQ, NA Im running 13.03,13.01 and 13.08. Im still at the track waiting for her to cool, I just loaded a little bit leaner CMR tune. A/F on this tune was in the 11.3 area, Dave Kasper leaned this one a little more so we will see. John
BTLFED ...I noticed with my B&G Nitrous tune that letting 3rd rev out to 6200 was hurting me by 3-4 tenths..Testing on my GTech...I ran better times by auto stickin 3rd and shifting around 5600rpm...Where u shiftin at?
Super Dupper Dave Kasper tune set to Kill 1.691 60ft 4.76 330ft 7.42 1/8th 94.56 1/8th MPH 9.725 1000ft 11.5256 1/4 117.18 MPH BTW- I know it 60ft like a sonabiatch but Im very confident the clocks screwed up. Im in line and going to try and back it up after she cools.
BTLFED, Glad to see your times improving, FYI it is very hard to do an Email NOS tune most tuners won't do them to many possible problems and when somehing breaks it ends up being blamed on the tuner.. I do my email NOS tunes very conservitive trying to avoid any lean A/F spots and any timing issues.. You should be able to use the predator to adjust the B&G base NOS Tune to optimize your vehicles timing and A/F numbers to achive max performance..Datalog your run you can probly throw a couple degrees more timing in at WOT if you are not seeing any knock, and you can probly lean it a bit more also..Maybe even see an 11.40 pass..although that last run was pretty impressive for what I belive is a stock long block. Hope this helps
Thank you Dave, I datalogged all my runs and will review them this weekend. On the latest Tune you sent me, Im seeing 2 degrees less timing than with the original very 1st tune you sent me. I also dyno'd with 93 octane vs tonight sprayed on 1/8th tank 93 and 2.5 gallons of C16. Another interesting note, I loaded the NA tune you sent me yesterday and ran a . It seems thru trial and error we have narrowed doen the best tunes. I was unable to back up the 12.5 run, I ran a and then a 12.1@110. I guess I was out of happy gas :hmm: That was my last trip to the track for at least a few month, next week Im off to Montana with the Jeep and Snow Chains:yes: I like the tunes I have but Montana only has 90 octane, can I pull 3 degrees and add couple % fuel and be safe ? Thanks JMatt and 1Bad4dr, it was worth all the work for sure. BTW- On my last pass down the track I just turned 4000 miles on the clock.
That 11.6 pass is close enough to back up the 11.5 pass. What was the 60' time on the 11.6 pass? Probably a 1.7x? That would be the difference there. Very nice runs for sure.
Spectacular nitrous runs John! Glad to hear the Jeep was hooking. We had some nice NA runs at the track. I had 15 runs in the 12.50s with a best of 12.49 at 107.97 mph. Nice to see we've both gained from our latest mods and CMR tweaks.
Congrats John I was being updated last night with your progress and I'm very impressed to say the least wonder if you had some cutouts if that would of helped last night when spraying???
Hey Dave, im pretty sure the nitrous tune you made me is very similar if not the same as BTLFEDs since our mods are identical. How are your nitrous tunes with pulled timing running faster times than the canned tunes when not running nitrous? By the way, what is the optimal AF for nitrous that you think would make big power? If you were tuning the jeep on a dyno and the AF was around 11:1 would you increase the nitrous jet or reduce the fuel jet?
Thank you all :worthy: Wade, I actually thought of running just open headers but I need to fab up something that will take it from the collector and point it down. Chris, just a FYI. The a/f ratios did not change at all from stock exhaust to longtubes. I also dont know if I mentioned it but I had 1/8th tank fuel and bought 2 gallons of C16 for insurance. :towel: [/qoute]If you were tuning the jeep on a dyno and the AF was around 11:1 would you increase the nitrous jet or reduce the fuel jet?[qoute] I thought I know the answer but Im confused. My 1st reply was going to be by bumping the N20 jet you will lean it out but you also are running a bigger shot(More power) After thinking by leaning it out with fuel, you not adding more N20 but still making more power(Now Im really confused) After thinking for a while, I believe that either will do the same and as long as your not going too lean either will work. Hurry up, its your turn.
My truck shifts out of 1st at 5950-5975 and every gear after right above 6200 or right below 6200. I wish there was a way to run spray to 5950 in 1st and 6200 every gear after.
High yesterday was about 75(Clear and Sunny) and it was already dark by the time I started using the spray. Air-Temps when I started spraying were 63 and on my fastest pass was 55 with AITs of 64. Video at
How big of a shot do you use? I can't bring mine in before 4200 without spinning. What kind of tires do you have?
