    I don't get it:chair: It talks about the air filter letting in contaminates? Won't this damage any engine? I thought turbo's were driven by exhaust? I guess I'm sticking with my original comment... I don't get it :chair:

    turbos are driven by exhaust but the "fresh" air that goes into the motor gets pulled in through the intake, just like any other car, which is attached to the turbo. if something gets sucked in through the intake it will chew up the wheel. i've seen it happen numerous times......

    Great post, I skimmed over it and the thought that sprouted up was my AEM Short Ram Intake. Theres a nipple on the intake and a nipple on the valve cover. When you go into boost is hoots a bit of oil/oily air into the intake that hits the turbo of course. I hear about people putting catch can's and that solves the problem, but there is really no space between those two points.

    Always the option of hacking the nipple off and relocating it. Not a fan of that.

    People also just throw a breather on the end but according to DCR it needs to be connected to help the piston rings seal.

    Just throwing that out there since it might mess up the turbo.

    I had the same problem with my K&N CAI. I ran it connected for 1-2 weeks and noticed all the oil going into the turbo so I blocked it off and ran a fuel line with a breather at the end for the valve cover. Now I have a JMB which that nipple is gone and I run the fuel line from the valve cover into a JMB catch can.

    Where does the other side go? Back to the intake? I also see people are getting catch can's and mounting a filter on one of the prongs and having a line from the valve cover go to the other prong on the catch can.

    I still have to get a filter for the other side but I have the valve cover going to the first one. I might possibly be changing my setup around and just have the PCV valve going to it and the other side back to the intake manifold and getting a new breather filter and hook that to the valve cover. I used to but it would drip once the filter was soaked in oil after about 5-10K miles.
