I told the wife I'm doing a fwe things to the car. Period. We can't afford her to stay home with my son (aka: "Pup"), even if we got rid of the Charger, so game on. 1. My first order of business is suspension. KW V1 and Hotchkis. I say the V1 because after looking at Rick's car, it really isn't lowered enough, despite the fact that its lowered all the way. Every V1 equipped car at the SF was noticeably lower than the V2 cars. The V1's apparently have a lower setting... and they're cheaper! 2. Power. In reality, even with financing, the I-Charger would likely be a bit much for me. I'm looking at spending around $3-4 grand on power. What do you all suggest? What gains could be expected from your suggestions? I'd LOVE to get an additional 50+ HP at the wheels. 3. Tires. We saw alot of cars with the Toyos at the SF. I know the Vredesteins are awesome, but they're also more expensive than Toyo. Opinions on the Toyos?!?!
Can never go wrong with spray... well you can but 50+ to 100 whp is fair. I would LIKE to say I am not even close to assuming I know anything about the 6.1s so advise from others will be better for you. Cam and a little Head love Good luck momo
Well, I can say after this weekend that the Toyo Proxes STs aren't that big an improvement in handling AND they are way stiffer. My ass is STILL sore after that drive. Not sure about the 4s, but I know of at least two people on here who have them, rsmeanie and reacher.
Time to introduce MOMO to the BMCP Card lol! http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4258 Seriously though, I would say KW V1 or Eibach Coilovers which are basically the same, everyone who sees my Eibach Equipped SRT loves the stance. Also Hotchkis Sways for sure as well. Maybe a Nice Nitrous Kit for some added power? Along w/ a Diablo Tune. Headers or High Flow Cats. As far as tires go I have to say I really love my Falkens, they are wearing great even after quite abot of time at the strip and 2 road course days. Let us know how we can help!
I'm runnin brand new Toyo Proxes4's. I like them. They don't transmit road noise too much and at a 275 they offer pretty good grip. Not sure if they are better than the F1's or not...guess I'll find out more when it warms up and I hit the track. I got all 4 for 525 from eastcoast tires on EBay.. Hope this helps a bit lol..
2. I am kind of in the same situation. I want to spend $5k right now on power and maybe more later this year. Heads, cam, 90mm TB (if you believe 22 confirmed RWHP), nitrous (if you don't care if the power is there all the time or not). Not sure that you can do all of that for $4-5 grand but some of it for sure. I want to do PI torque converter and Route6Motersports high flow cats midpipes, so I know I can't do the whole list right now (and I probably won't do nitrous for a while). Or, maybe the smart thing to do would be 426 stroker with nitrous and be done with it? I will learn based on the suggestions you get.
If I had 5k,I would consider upgraded shafts,D/Rs. and a N20 kit. I promise you will have fun!!:salut:
I don't see Jason wanting to spend that kinda coin to go to an 1/8th mile track. Hell, he doesn't even race!
It was the V2 comment, wasn't it?!?! That's it. You two start bitch slapping one another again... I'll bring the opcorn: and lube. Race on a track? No. Otherwise, I've been known to accept a challenge off the track! :dancing:
OK. My thoughts: Nitrous. Either I wouldn't use it, or I'd likely use the hell out of it and blow my motor in the first month. So that's a no for me, although it is the best power for the $$$. Plus, refilling the bottle costs extra coin... something the wife wouldn't appreciate down the road. I like the idea of the power being there 24-7. Nitrous would be down the road...
No racing???.May I suggest some vents for your front fenders??Or those little lights that go on your valve stems??
Heads, cam, etc. That sounds about right to me... I'd want to build the motor up... later on maybe the SC. What heads/cam combos offer the best bang?!?! Proven, btw?!?! And will the 90mm TB really provide 22 whp?!?!
