Just a list of likes and dislikes after my 1st 200 miles on my '08 TorRed Charger SRT8.

    Likes:
Performance Features G-Meter like tool - probably not too accurate but fun nonetheless.
    Seats
    Stereo
    Bluetooth
    Ipod hookup
    Headlights
Foglights (turn on automatically when headlights turn on = cool)
Quick (haven't really opened it up tho, no wot yet)
    Auto-stick
    Roof line (short side windows)
Looking over the hood scoop while driving
one-touch up on both front windows (simple but really like this feature)

    Dislikes:
    Nav doesn't work
    Voice rec doesn't work
Remote-start doesn't work (the car had a dead battery on the lot and was jumped to get it to start, dead battery codes were reset as well as key fobs but remote start, nav and voice rec have never worked - will be going in this morning so hopefully these 3 items will be deleted! )
poor acceleration on RH turns (seems dsp kicks in and the car just crawls - been driving with dsp off)
exhaust is too quiet (this is coming from a guy who's last perf car was an '03 Viper with belanger headers, crossover delete, high flow cats and small coffee-can sized magnaflow mufflers - always on the prowl for parking garage car alarm testing)
    Skinny tires

That's about it, the right-hand turn dsp thing is really the only item I doubt I can mess with short of running with dsp off (which I'm sure is still on to a certain level). The remote-start and voice rec stereo issues will be resolved I'm sure and the exhaust can [will] be modified. Some wider tires can be installed as well but only if I can widen the powdercoated wheels (I like the current wheels too much to replace).

You should add my Flame Red SRT-4 to your list of cars....

You know...to help me on my way to a new Charger...

But either way, it's good to have an open opinion on stuff.

    Lots of exhaust options.

I didn't like the "pissed off air conditioner" sound and opted for Zoomers after doing some shopping around at various meet and greets.

Also, you'll find the ESP tends to be a bit motherly, but fortunately the tranny has adaptive learning so you can teach the car how you like it to run. Basically if you drive it like you stole it, she responds as such. If you drive like an old lady, well, you get an old lady car. Either way, happy driving. :dance4:

yeah, there is no break in period with these cars imho. the only time i ever had to do that was the first ls1 i bought back in 00.

it is true that the tires look like they belong on a motorcycle.

For 50 dollars, cut the resonators out and weld the tips back onto the new pipe.

The sound is AWESOME! WOT is crazy, low resonation.

thats what i did at first, then went with magnaflow mufflers later. if i had to do it over again, i would install magnaflows from the beginning. looks much cleaner.

Pretty well same deal for my mag. Took the train to the dealer in Quebec and drove it home...250 kph at one point with about 150 kilometers on the odometer. Now at 30,000 kilometers and taking the abuse fine.

My friend had Magnum SRT8 with dual DMH Performance E-Cutouts and that sounded great. He ran them right have the exhaust manifolds and before the cats. http://www.dmhperformance.com

I could imagine them seizing up nicely in our Canadian winters...otherwise they'd be great! Maybe if our move to AZ works out though...it'd be nice to have my wife hear me coming home from a mile or two away (they're not for me, honey, they're for you!).

Got the car back from the dealership last night. Turns out the NAV & Voice recognition weren't working b/c the 20gb hard drive had failed. They ordered me a new head unit, expecting about 3 days to arrive.

They fixed the remote start, apparantly something was disconnected at the factory & it was a quick fix.

And according to y'all regarding the break-in period, I guess the 252 miles on had on the odo was good enough, I'm going to light this car up today!:thanks:

...looking for ANY reason to leave the house now!:yahoo:
