Will there be a Drivers Meeting to show us the basics of drag racing? I've only been to the track one time.

When are you heading over ? Not sure if you go near Dayton, but perhaps we could travel over together. I'll show you how to run that beast...my reaction time is the same as John Forces ET. I look forward to running my truck with the new MODS

    Nice Mike. LMAO. Nice.

Yes, there will be a driver's meeting. Anyone who wants to attend, just find Mike, ask what he does, and follow his instructions.

(quickest stock SRT-8 pass ever, I believe.)

One trip to the track indeed..... :poop:

According to the rules, yes. I'm sure there will be one to borrow if you don't have one and they harrass you.

    Who would need nitrous?

I've got a vendor who would refill bottles for us if there's demand.

Let me know if you would use nitrous, and how many/what size bottles you've got.

    Thanks.

The contents of WAZZSUP's bed makes him look like a scuba instructor.

    TRACK PREP UPDATE!!!!!

Talked to the track this afternoon.

Brand new concrete waterbox. Just poured. Brand new asphalt in the area before the waterbox. Being put down this weekend. launch area widened 5 feet - new concrete.

First 330 feet of track was scraped and refreshed today. Rest of track in the next day or two.

Complete supply of VHT and other track trep chemicals was delivered and is on site now.

We will be racing on a practically brand new racing surface for the entire 1320 feet.

Unless someone hits the inaugural day of a brand new track, we will likely be on the best track prep any of us will ever see.

We will literally be the very first cars down the strip this year.

I need two bottles at least. I was going to have them filled local, but if your guy's there I would fill up again before heading home. Get a price...apples for apples I'd rather get them from someone supporting the shootout.

No, sorry for the confusion. We're heading back home for a couple weeks on that Friday. I ended up booking the airline tickets like two days before JMatt had this set up. Been bummed about missing it since because that track in INDY is so cool, but it looks like everyone is headed to Columbus anyway so I can meet everybody there. You going to Columbus VVV?

This evening's long-range dreamcast has rain and snow south at 8am with a morning barometer at 1030 - temps probably in the 30s:
    http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/fp0_216.shtml

    Then at 8pm:
    http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/fp0_228.shtml
Possibly getting brushed by rain and snow during the afternoon with the barometer falling to 1024 and a temperature maybe up to 40.

The panel on the lower left has the precip and barometer plotted on it.

It will be interesting to watch the forecast go back and forth, this is the best long-range weather model and we can watch how it goes back and forth. You really can't count on a solution until about 5 days out. I hope you guys get perfect weather for the day.

Oh I see....Flying OVER us as you leave Cincinnati. I gotcha.

That's too bad I wanted to meet you after all this time.

I'll look into the Columbus meet. I've been on the fence about it.

    Here's what we were thinking:

For anyone with nitrous, use what you want from 10:00AM until about noon. This guy will then load up his van with all of our bottles, drive them to his shop, refill them, and bring them back. Depending on how many bottles, that'll take him up to 2 total hours.

Then from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM you'll have your bottles available again.

If you want refills before you go home, he can repeat that.

I've got two full 10's and one full 15 ready to go.

I'm thinking a couple guys will only have a single 10, and could use a mid day refill.
