Jeep Big Dana 44 Locker (Limited Slip)

Jeff excuse my ignorance, Can you change the Ringgear without changing the pinion gear ? Ive never set gears in anything besides 8.8 and 9.25(I think) in my Lightning. All Ford Products:doh:

 

You would just reuse the ring gear on the new carrier.

I'm waiting for axle to be delivered I purchased from a fellow member then I need to get a broken carrier to install and check.
