OK. Big news coming out of the Momo Mod Camp this evening. I'm definately getting the Predator for Christmas!

Now, I have some wiggle room for a little something else as well.

Considering that coilovers/sways are a bit pricey, considering I'd want to do both at the same time, I was thinking of high-flow cats & mids.

What do you all think? Predator and Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic Converters?

I heard of someone having issues with this setup, or is that more of a fluke? What type of gains COULD I expect?

    Thoughts? Ideas?

What problems have you heard of? If you're referring to check engine lights from the cats, your predator will take care of that. There is a setting on the predator to turn off your rear O2 sensors which will eliminate at codes from your cats. Problem solved. Go for the cats. They're definitely worth it.

Not sure by your post that the coil overs are a choice...if they are I would go with them....I have doubts as to whether the hiflow cats on the SRT8 help on the street?..:hmm:

High flow cats and mids? What do those cost installed? and how's she going to react to the sound? If they get on there and she goes ballistic over the sound you can kiss off any chance of any more mods until the next car.

Let's evaluate: I get the impression that you have less than zero chance of seeing any kind of blower and probably zero chance of heads and cam. So just how much advantage are high flow cats and mids going to buy you? I'd shoot for the strut brace and Hotchkis sways.

I never threw a code with my Magnaflow Hi Flow cats, cat-back and CAI. Dyno'd 393HP with stock PCM.

Never threw a code until I did Kook's with no cats. I know CMR can turn off the 420/430 codes, not sure if the Predator can. Dave at B&G can turn them off.

I think the highflow's and Predator would be a very good starting place.

DanRealtor has CAI, HF's, and cat-back. Scott tuned it with the Predator and he picked up over 20HP/TQ.

Am I the only one who throws codes with the Magnaflow high flows? Oh wait, Moe did too until he got his sims.

I've always gotten the post-catalylic codes from having the Magnaflows. No biggie.

That's a good question. I don't really know. Drew states he got noticeable gains from his hiflow cats (also has CAI, Zoomers).

As far as the wife noticing the noise difference, I'm not too concerned. I've ridden in Drews car, and its a BIT louder/raspier, but nothing serious.

I am anxious to hear what comes of the coilover thing... that weighs on my mind as well...

Rick, you know I love your car's handling... other than the Predator, the suspension is priority to me, but it is expensive (being a devils advocate: and Ryan's thing falls through), and from what I've heard from reliable sources in the past (aka: Drew) the hiflow cats do indeed offer nice gains in HP (10ish).

Not only that, but if I go for coilovers, sways are a must in my book.

N2O is nice, but there's no way I'd be able to keep refilling that bottle without the lady getting froggy.

Congrats on the preda-dator. As for the other, um, dunno. I'm off the mod crack for a while.

10ish hp? c'mon, go for the suspension. Huge difference you experience each and every time you drive it. Even if it's just down the block and you never get over 35 mph. Only time you'll notice 10ish is if you're at the track and have a slip to look at... look 2 to the right of the decimal point.

The sways (and strut bar) can be added first and you might not even have to get it aligned. Go for the sways and then the strut bar as a stocking stuffer.

The suspension thingie is great J but more pricey for sure...I have the setup you're looking for and I think it's a good place to go (cats that is)....however, I am getting headers come Christmas and P&P heads, I bought my high-flows in May and I like em a lot...crispier throttle response down low (like in parking lots) and more pull throughout the higher rpms....now this is a SOTP thang...I will be selling them once I get my Kooks with hf cats...just to let ya know. BTW, this is what I ran yesterday morning on that deserted farm area road (my favorite...no intersections or driveways for a mile hehehe)....it was 35* out so notice my 60' time LOL...This is my first piece of evidence after my dyno tune using only the handheld, wideband, and 93CAI canned tune:

Oh ya, never get codes with the Magnaflow HF's...they're pretty cheap too and if you aren't going to go with headers since you live in Cali then they're a nice touch to the exhaust...I find they're a deeper sound but not a hell of a lot louder...I rarely go WOT with wifey in the car since baby is usually with us.

jason - congrats on the pred.... asked wifey for the same for x-mas. as for the hi-flo's, i have them, not cels, and do like the difference in sound. the cars seems to really breath on the top end as well!!! highly recommend them for the price. the install is relatively easy and could be done by you and rick without too much issue. if i remember correctly, don't you guys have access to a lift??? will make things WAAAAAAY easier than crawling around under a car!!!
