WFT?!?! I thought we're all supposed to get along in the SRT community?? Apparently not. I was dissed by both a Jeep SRT-8 and a SRT-4 today for no reason I can fathom other than those owners being total azzholes. Beautiful day here in sunny Nor Cal, 70* and not a cloud in sight. Got the maggie all cleaned up and headed out to do some errands. In the South Bay here (west SJ) traffic gets pretty bad on the weekends even on regular surface streets so it's slow going all over. I was in no rush anyway, just enjoying the weather and the car. Windows down, sunroof open, stereo cranked (well, not that cranked) and minding my own business driving amonst the numerous bland sedans, SUVs and (the dreaded) hybrids, my Inferno Red Magnum sticking out like a sore thumb! So I finally see something nice up ahead about to turn right into my lane from a side street ... a silver Jeep SRT-8. He can't turn cause of all the traffic and he's staring right at me and all the other cars going by waiting to go. We're going slow, maybe 30, and I'm in the far right lane so I go by slowly RIGHT in front of him. I wave, as I always to do fellow SRTs, and he just stares me down. Nothing else. I'm like WTF?!?! Whatever. Then he comes up behind me and then over to my left and slowly passes. I look over ready to wave again (or at least give a head nod or thumbs up) and he looks over at me and just as I'm about to wave he looks away and drives off. WTF man?!?! As if that wasn't bad enough shortly after I had a white skittle drive by without even looking in my direction ... and he saw me, that's for sure. I can kinda understand the skittle guy's reaction but the Jeep guy's?? No way, that's just wrong. So if there's someone on here that that lives in the south bay and owns a silver Jeep SRT-8 that was cruising down Hamilton Ave. towards Willow Glen around noon today ... kizz my azz, that was just wrong man. Can't we all just get along, hahaha!
Perhaps it was that third eye on your forehead Scotty!! DAHAAHAAHAAHAAHA! jk...seriously, I think I've heard this said before and I totally think it's true. Some people just purchase whatever is at the top of a vehicle line's food chain with no rhyme or reason to it. Case in point. My wife's uncle does very well and is a regional plant manager for a Tier 1 automotive supplier. He bought the Grand Cherokee SRT8 for no other reason than the fact he wanted there top model. He had no inkling of desire to know about the community of SRT enthusiasts that is out there. In fact, he doesn't even treat his SRT well. He found out that oil changes were around 110 bucks here and that it was recommended he use premium. When he asked me about it..I said, well yeah!!?? He has never put premium in it or used synthetic since he calls it "BS"...I called him a complete dumbass and no longer talk to him about cars at all because of his sins. lol...Either he's cheap in very strange ways (since I've never seen him be cheap) or he just doesn't care since he knows he'll be buying a new vehicle in another year or two.
Overall, not too uncommon here in SOCAL, unfortunately. There are 2 SRT8 Chargers in my area that don't even wave. Little do they know they have a vehicle that's produced in relatively low numbers and they're part of a small club. Fools.
I always wave to fellow skittle owner and other srt's if I recognize them , however my window tint is so goddamn dark I doubt anyone realizes I am waving....I hardly ever see any srt8 magnums, but the few I have seen I must admit are sweet looking whips
if traffic was congested as you stated, maybe he was in a Rush as well. And waveing was the least of his concerns
Yep.... I get it all the time. Never so much as a nod. :what: Hell, Corvette owners are world renowned for being dick-heads, and they still wave (when I'm driving the Vette). :dunno2::blink:
Be happy. I don't even see another SRT for months except neighbors. If I do see one there either opposing traffic or by the time I realize they are an SRT there gone. Maybe during summer more will come out to play. Jeep, only seen 2 of them in the last year. In my neighborhood, at least the two other 300SRT's, always wave. To Mother Mopar did you ever think it was you the reason they don't wave? J/K Sam
I'll have to admit I am guilty of not waving (not in this case), sometimes I am just not thinking to do it in a car unless someone else does first. On the ZRX I wave to anyone on 2 wheels out of reflex.
I have to say I've met about 5 owners here and they have all waved and some stopped to shoot the shit. I raced one when I was stock...a black Magnum on a fresh set of tires and nothing but a JBA exhaust. He took the loss like a man...very nice guy.
To paraphrase an old cliche': "There's a cretinous asshole born every minute" Many people are too rude, discourteous and fearful to merely wave, nod or even acknowledge another driver in a friendly manner.... no matter what they drive.... People are so childish and self absorbed sometimes..... Many don't have any heart whatsoever...... Love, sharing and mutual apprectiation are luxuries that some simply cannot afford... Bummer, ain't it............? Rock on............ D
I always wave no matter what. I've come across a few fellow douchebags down in SoCal as well. We still love ya. Does that count for something?
Bleeb that. A Skittle should acknowledge all other SRT's. Thems the rules. Any SRT that waves to me get the wave back.
maybe you had the tunes cranked louder than you thought....lot of guys won't wave at a guy blasting BeeGee's music
