Guy's, with my recall being so bad at this moment, I can't remember what fits on our LX's. There's a young lad selling some 20's locally and he's indicated that the rims are 5x114.3 and 5x115 with 38mm offset (not sure why they're two different sizes but they're coming off his '93 Probe...don't laugh...very nice rims btw). I can't for the life of me remember what our bolt spacing is and don't know if the offset would be adequate. If anyone can bring insight I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Can't imagine why there would be 2 different bolt patterns. Either way, I know our cars have the same bolt pattern all the way around. So you would only have 2 at most that would work. Unless I understood wrong and they have 4 of each wheel.
Yeah, Bobby, seems weird for sure...though his car is pretty customized so he may have swapped out one end of suspension. Thanks.
Our wheels are 5x115. I think that what he is indicating is that he feels 5x114.3 and 5x115 are close enough to be interchangeable. I think that if is broken down into inches 5x114.3 = 5x4.5 and 5x115 = 5x4.53 Somebody else will let us know if it is OK to use these or not. They will mount up fine. I think that you could risk vibration or have a problem getting the wheel/tire off the car when you change them (you know, you might have to pound on the tire to break the wheel loose.) I think that many guys will use that size though, so you should get some answers. Hub size on the wheel that you are looking at may or may not be an issue. As far as the offset, 38 is substantially more than our stock wheels (25.5). Someone will have to tell us if that is a problem or not. I found a website that says we can use wheels in the range from 12 to 25 offset but who knows if it is accurate or not.
I don't think I would take that risk b/c our stock wheels on our cars are hub-centric, not lug-centric. But thats just my opinion.
This is all great info. man, thanks eveyone. Just off the phone with the guy and he's really anxious to move 'em off the car (lawsuit issues apparenly, ahem). Here there are (now covered in snow though). http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-tires-rims-20s-W0QQAdIdZ28672829 I'm now very keen to hear from anyone that can chime in regarding the offset which he maintains is quite sizable for large caliper app's. As for $ 1600? Not gonna happen but I've got to make sure they fit first!
I like the stock wheels better. Plus those 35 series tires on a 20" rim may look out of place on a SRT - IMO. Were you planning to change the tires?
Oh yeah, new rubber 4 sure, Bobby. I hear you about the stock Mag rim vs. these but even after force balancing, two of the factory rims are seem of round (I've hit some dandy pot holes but I can't imagine ever hitting anything hard enough that I damaged them liek that! Bizarre.) So I was thinking that I'd buy new wheels & new rubber to get rid of the dreaded 80 mph vibration that drives me nuts (my 17" steel winters are smooth as silk at 80 mph). I was even thinking of going to aftermarket 18's...
