Well its been a project in the works for a few weeks now, couple hours every few nights. I finally finished the install of my Nitrous kit and progressive controller. Im not looking to hide anything, although I wish the plate and soleniods werent so obvious.(Im headed for a oil change and recall on Wed) First, the important thank yous because without these folks it would have taken much longer. Wade(CentralTXHemi) for hooking me up with Nitrous Outlet, Mike@Bwoody Performance for assisting me with all my questions regarding the FJO progressive controller. Even though I didnt purchase my FJO from Bwoody Mike took the time to answer my questions over the phone and thru PMs. Had I known I was going to need to know what wires to splice into throughout the vehicle I would have gladly given Mike my $. There is really only 1 reason I didnt get it from Mike, I didnt know I wanted it until I was at the Nitrous shop and saw it. I also didnt know Mike sold these units until the shop I purchased it from sent me to him for help. Mike thanks for your help and your customer service is outstanding :thumb: Chuck(Cobrakid) I was also referred to Chuck by the shop I purchased equipment from, Chuck answered several of my emails with questions I had. Last but as important of the others, our former moderator SGTStanko This man also answered several of my questions via PMs and Im after his record with less mods. Now onto my install, this is not my 1st rodeo but I was totally blind on this install because I physically designed my own kit from the ground up. Chris and Randy@ Nitro Daves were great and accomodating to sending me parts that we needed or forgot when creating this kit. At 1st we got a 16ft hose from bottle to solenoid and that didnt work, a 20ft was needed. Next the standard 3ft hose from fuel rail to solenoid wasnt long enough, neither were the 2ft hoses from solenoids to plate. Again these guys next day'd me the correct length hoses. With the directions that these guys give in there kits, installing the solenoids and steel braided lines is childs play. The nitty griddy of the install is running wires from cab to engine bay and making everything look good. Mike told me what wire to tap into for the RPM signal. Coil packs all have a common wire, this is not the wire you tap into, its the uncommon The next wire you need is TPS, this wire is brown with white stripe and located at gas pedal.(Thanks to Mike for the above info) The rest is just like wiring foglights through a relay and again with directions is childs play.

The truck is dirty, my sprinkler system went off yesterday afternoon while I went in for a beverage:oops: but here are a few basic pictures.

The FJO is a nice piece and will really aid in traction problems associated from the initial hit when spraying. You have the ability to control it thru RPM or on a timed basis. Im going to use RPM, this will also ease the stress on the driveline. I made a few runs tonight on the 50HP pills and after swapping plugs tomorrow I will be renting the dyno for 3 hours to dial it in and monitor A/F ratios on Wed. On Friday, its game on at the track and Stanko Im after your 11.99

Sorry for the long post, enjoy the photos :book:

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the plug. You asked all the right guys. Actually Mike at BWoody sold me new larger solenoids and the FJO unit. He preprogrammed it for me which will really aid in the install. The Zex kit is only good up to 125 and you did it right going with larger solenoids.

Dont just go after my record.......you need to go after BWoody's and the Cobra Kids! Good Luck and keep us posted.

Congrats bud, I'm just glad I could connect you with the guys at Nitrous Outlet I try not to plug them too much as they are not a vendor on here or any site (too busy with only 3 guys at the shop) but you cannot beat their customer service and knowledge, great bunch there. As Steve said aim higher and knowing him he would only be as excited as you are if you beat his times.

ZEX will tell you that with their setups that they can only suggest running up to 125 shot on stock fuel pump, you can go higher but they will suggest you get a boost a pump. I think its been done on stock fuel pump, kinda trial and error to see what happens

If you look at the Zex Solenoids you will see the difference in size. Zex has nice packaging and great as a entry level kit but pulsing those small solenoids will kill em quick. My goal is same as Steve because I dont plan on squirting(Yet) more than 125, I know CobraKid is at least 175 and Im not sure what Bwoody is using. When Im ready to blow my motor, I will throw 200 at it. Spring is always slow in my line of work but summertime bonuses help pay for the toys.

I just called Zex and talked to two different techs who said the wet nitrous management unit with built in solenoids will handle a 175 shot without a problem. Just have to make sure your fuel pump can keep up. They said anything above that they recommend the pro race zex individual fuel and nitrous solenoids.

That's kinda what I posted, they just worded in a different way. YES their WET EFI will handle a 175 shot otherwise they would not sell 150 and 175 Jets, its the particular vehicle that may not be able to handle anything over the 125 shot. Take for instance a 2003 Dodge Ram Hemi, works well with a 100 shot but go over that you need to upgrade to an 04/05 fuel pump. It just comes down to mathematics and knowledge of how your vehicle works and its limits.

Having had 2 Zex setups and following the advice from their techs on previous "WET" systems that is what I was told. If you go to Zex.com and click on product info and then JET CHARTS the first set of JET CHARTS is for the WET EFI setup, all is good up to 125 and next to 150 and 175 it says refer to note #2
NOTE #2: Fuel pump upgrade required. Use ZEX Booster Fuel Pump Kit #82020 for return style fuel system.

JUST BE SAFE AND KEEP AND EYE ON YOUR A/F GUAGE

Yeah sorry to go off topic but I misunderstood you as saying the kit itself would not support anything over 125.

I logged some high shot runs, and my a/f never went too high....leading me to believe the truck is up to the fuel task, at least to 150-170hp.

You will get hooked on the juice, it is so awesome in these Jeeps.

Go for the 1 step colder plugs, a nitrous tune, and spray 150 at the track with a splash of race gas, and feel confident
you aren't hurting a thing.

Good luck.

Everybody mentioned above are very nice and helpful people.

Haha true that. I have been on that end before and it didnt turn out so well for me. I have learned to take a step back and learn from other peoples mistakes. Not saying Chuck will make a mistake because I definitely trust his opinion when it comes to nitrous. I dont think anybody has sprayed as much through the 6.1 as he has.
