No, nothing done to the ducting...I left it uncovered for close to 6 months blowing air under the dash with no problems..I guess you could cover it if you wish. The secret is how I finally figured out a easy non permanent way to mount the panel in the place of the vent.
Yup. I really like that but I'm conflicted about losing the vent. I like the air. AC especially in the summer. Have you experimented with a rigid mesh? That would allow air through there as well as mounting a gauge? ...or would condensation be a problem.
I live in West Texas. Not just Texas but West Texas...as in the desert. It get in the 100s out here and not having that vent has never bothered me. Pics posted later tonight of the metal product that is to be sold.
I got the Metal cut pieces in today, 10 total (well, 8 cause 2 are already sold) Mocking the piece up: 30 minutes later after cutting the holes: I will take some to get them powder coated tomorrow if you are interested, PM me. Nathan
I really like that!! If I end up with a 3rd gauge, I'll have to go with you. I might add a fuel pressure gauge shortly. I've held off because I didn't know where to put one nicely after the two gauges I put up in my sunvisor.
Hey, it is a good place to put a gauge...but it is for Charger/Magnums only. Sorry Jmatt, the 300 Dash is just too different and my idea won't fit.
Update: Here are some more pics, one raw, one gloss black, and one grey to match the dash pretty well.
How about one for the area under the A/C vent on the Jeeps, there is a cubby hole there that is a good place for a guage. KRC made a dual holder for that area but want 125.00 for it which is a little steep for some stamped out metal http://www.krcperformance.com/krc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=42&Itemid=2
Wow, my prices seem a lot better I don't have a jeep close to me here in Abilene, if I did I could make one.
Nice spot for a gauge, clean work. I noticed you have the "paddle" shift switches from Hammer. Do you like them?
