For all you guys that have done this setup. How is the lighting on the projectors with HID's. I drive alot on back roads where it gets really dark. I need all of the light I can get. Does this projector setup shine wide or is it more of a straight line beam? I am just fearful of getting the projector setup because on my ram I had a set and they blew. They were not bright at all, and the light was not even adjustable in any direction. In my case, would you guys recommend just keeping the stock setup and going with HID's or switching over to projector lenses?
Man HID are the shit, sorry no other way to explain it, I had some in the low and fog on my 05 Ram Hemi and it was friggin bright. I just put some on the SRT Jeep on the lows and fogs and once again I am amazed, I get flashed all the time and will NEVER have to use my hi-beams. If you are needing bright and could care less about color get a 5000K set of HID's and call it a day in fact Marcel has a sell on his that ends today for only 150.00 a set and that is CHEAP
Agreee HIDs are the shizzle...But for maximum light output don't go with projectors, they cut the light beam. I am going to go back to my stock lights with HIDs, 1gazillion times more light output
Here are the ones I did on the truck, keep in mind this is JUST the HID foglights, look at pic #5 light output http://hemitruckclub.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5950068252/m/7460033494 On the Jeep
if you get 10,000K, you have less light being given off then lower temps...I have 6000k's on my Ram and they are AWESOME on the normal headlamp setup...Talk to Marcel at Total Lighting Solutions...tell him what your looking for and he will make sure you get what you need!!
8000K on the Ram and 6500K on the Jeep, he is right the higher the number the less light output and has more color like blue or purple, 6500K to me is the best of both color and light output
Here is a shot with my HID's in projectors. Light off Lights on The projectors gives you light to the GROUND, not to the air. I see a MUCH better visibility with the projectors than I did with the OEM lights. Then I added the HID's and all I can say is OMFG!!!! No more highbeams needed. lol
x2.. Projectors should be required with HID and they are recommended by most sellers. This why a lot of oncomig cars flash folks wit HIDS cause the HID without projectors is shinig up as much as down. You just have to buy good HID with projectors built or a set lof lights that have good projectors built in....I mean the projectors Ron is runnig are not that expensive....I have seen them in the $150 range on ebay but this is without HID bulbs.
i cant wait to be flashed!!!... i dont think i can wait anymore...i think they are going in tomorrow and or sunday! haha
I hope I am not one of the oncoming cars....hopefully you are geting projectors also. The projectors also focus the light, so you get to see farther down the road. In a fog you will wish you had projectors cause the fog will blind YOU.
haha yeah ill get them eventually...and dont worry about fog...the SRT will NEVER see fog, or anything other than good weather for that matter....
