Sorry, tried ALL sorts of ABS.
The Jeep does NOT want to play nice. I had my dealer even help with graphing the ABS.
Oh...it's not fun in a Jeep when the ABS is totally confused. THAT is the voice of experience.

I had "help" from SO many members that bought a 9" or 12 bolt or Dana 60 for next to nothing. Hell, I was one of them!

Pioneered the JGC and if I could find a COMPLETE rear diff & carriage for the LX platform I would probably build an independent rear for that.
I certainly know how and have my manufacturer for the custom tone rings.

Old discussions on GM sites. LS1Tech and the like. Wasn't a huge difference, but a little.

I would be curious to see what "little" we are talking about.

The 9" is an outstanding rear end that has proven to be unbreakable, but changing the gears is complete BS...

Then we have the Quick Change....where changing gears is like eating pie, and the engineering and perfection put into each one is simply perfect...

Maybe I should put a quick Change in the Jeep. Drop like a 650 gear in there and show all those honda civics whats up!

Not sure I understand about the gear change comment on the 9"?
Most have a complete 3rd member with a fresh gear set and I know that I can change my 3rd member out in about an hour by myself.

I am sure as shit not that fast (I think 2.5 hours is my fastest swap) but I agree... I personally love the convenience of a 3rd member.

Once you lift that heavy 3rd member up there, oh 100 times or so, it becomes rather annoying. Granted I can change a 9" with a full spool in about 10 minutes. Its just annoying.

Now take a quick change, grab the 2 tiny gears and you can swap them in about 5 minutes. After you have used a quick change, (if your changing gears regularly) you will never go back to a 9" Purchasing a well built quick change by a reputable company, will be bullet proof

    Manis,

You must be reading Boys Life or something while doing the swap. :) It's actually pretty quick. However, not sure if you guys are familiar with the quick change axle, but those are sweet and they are built for race applications with no ring and pinion to set. Just swap end gears.

I guess you would use 2 quick changes, 1 front, 1 back???
I won't say impossible, only very doubtful.

Not at all understanding what you are saying? What is not possible? A quick change rear end, is far more superior compared to any rear end made today. They have a front section which encases a ring and pinion. This ring and pinion usually has a ratio of 4.12 or 4.86. Connected to that ring and pinion through a counter shaft is a pair of gears that can fit into your 2 hands. These gears are what are used to determine your final drive ratio. With a quick change rear end you can change gears in minutes, (if you know what you are doing.) Depending on which ring and pinion you choose, the FD ratios can range anywhere from 2.37 to 8.42....

    LOL! Nice one.
