Hey everyone. I'm sure this is on-line somewhere, but what fun would it be to Google my question versus asking my forum buddies?

Anyway, does anyone know how to calculate G forces in Drag Racing? I was watching ESPN2 and the top fuel cars running 4.5xx at 320-330mph in the quarter and wondered how that would feel? Now I've driven some 9 second cars and been in a few 8 second cars, but not 4.5xx cars.

I know its relative to one's weight. Meaning whether you are 160 pounds or 180 pounds, the force of gravity for each would be 1-G. So, lets say you weight 180 pounds, what would the G-force be driving in a Dragster doing 4.5xx in the quarter?

I went to smokemup.com and looked up G force. The only calculator they have is based upon 60ft times and nothing more. So for me with a 60 at 1.714 equals 1.28G's

dunno about the calculator but i've heard 4 to 5 G's for top fools

    i stand corrected

Best quarter-mile elapsed time: 4.428 seconds
    Best finish-line speed: 337.58 mph
6 G-forces at the starting line (nothing accelerates faster on land)
6 negative G-forces upon deployment of twin parachutes at 300 mph
