This past weekends weather was AWESOME!!! Saturday was sunny, light winds 70-76 degrees so I washed, clay barred and waxed the Jeep and OH debagged the front and rear JEEP (looks MUCHO better FYI). I spent all day on it so by the time I got done it was time to take the GF out for dinner and the Jeep stayed parked as the Cayenne was out in the driveway :sorry: When we got home Saturday night she told me that I missed a call from a buddy of mine that wanted to take the bikes out for a ride since the weather is nice so I told her that I would rather take the Jeep out tomorrow and get some more miles on Daves latest tune and see how well the new radiator cap holds up to some abusive driving. Sunday morning looked kinda bad :crying: but soon the clouds parted and it warmed up real nice just like Saturday. I give the Jeep a once over to make sure I did not miss any spots, hop in, pull back the sunroof and tell the GF see you in a few hours:dancing: So I head out for a drive around the lake, thru the park and up and around Baylor University. I decide to head back into town and hit the Valley for some cruising and this is where it gets interesting. I see this sports car weaving thru traffic like hes on his way to a fire and he's driving the firetruck and of course he peaks my interest as I've been known to put out some fires leasantry:-LOL anyway as I attempt to catch up to this guy it's as if he knows what I am doing because you cannot miss the shiny red beast rolling up on you, there is no stealth involved when your driving the Jeep it's roll up and GTF out of the way driving mode time for me. I finally catch up to the guy, traffic is med-heavy and he makes a mistake and moves into the wrong lane and this puts him one lane over from me but were parallel to one another. I look over and see that its a Porsche, not sure at this point what kind but what I do see is that he is an older guy (wrinkled cheek lines and grayish hair) but what really catches my attention is his driving apparell. He's sportin the Porsche hat and Porsche gloves, you know the kind with the holes on the top with the little velcro strip across the backside:rofl: and of course to finish out the look the all mighty AVIATOR RAY BANS:bang: This guy definately only gets this bad boy out on days like this so he's wanting to drive the shit out of it but he has chosen the wrong road/traffic to do so. Traffic moves a little more and now I'm a little behind him still in my lane and can see the backside of the car now and all I see is TURBO, not being a big expert on Porsche I tell myself, hmmm it's gotta be the 911 TURBO as I think that is all they offer in the U.S.??? It's looked sweet, then I see the big red calipers and think again, hmmm the new 911 turbo have yellow calipers so it could be a year back or more model???? all this time were both scanning the traffic looking for room to make our moves, kinda like who can get to the next light first wins, we both see a way around the cars to an open area so its ON:starwars: We both jump at the same time and surprisingly I beat him to the spot so this really pisses him off, we do the whole weaving thing for a while until we find OPEN ROAD so I let it open at WOT and so does he, I jump on him so bad that I know he missed a gear but catches up to me at the light (hahah I beat you here) I look over at him to gloat but he has this look like you've gotta be fuggin kidding me this SUV beat me to the light, his jaw line was rigid and he holding the steering wheel tight like he was choking it and would not look over. I was turned all the way sideways hoping he would look over to say something smart, but I can only imagine I had ruined his day poor man spent $120,000 on a beautiful car but wants to be a prick in traffic, so yes I played along and he did not like the results. I really think he expected to leave me in the dust or back off. Light turns green and I know he's going for it, heck next light is only a block up so I'm game I get the jump on him but he edges me by a nose at the end, so I guess he felt better I hope so I just hate pricks like this who think they own the road whenever they want so I was happy with the Jeep for keeping up in traffic and not getting killed to bad in a light to light run
You'd definately would of run him better than I did, but I imagine he would of killed me real bad if we had more open road to run on those things look badass
yeah but as far as he knows you owned his ass on that sprint and you woulda owned him worse given more open road!
I think I just got lucky with a novice driver or someone who is scared to really drive it hard, those things I believe run high 11's stock so no way in hell I would beat him on open road
It didn't look old, but I believe the new ones have yellow calipers and are Automatics with the Tiptronic S paddel shifters
TEX, I'm still looking at the picture! I just noticed the two (2) kids standing there. What the hell is this thread about????????????????????:dumb:
Yeah my son (on the left) sure could of lowered his right hand down and rested his head there to the left:rock:
