At HoP we just acquired CMR Tuning Software. We will be doing custom tunes via our in house Dynojet Dynometer. We may be releasing custom tunes with proven horsepower packages in the future, stay tuned. A lot of data testing is in the future via CMR.
not to sound like a complete moron........ excuse the ignorance, but isn't better to have the car actually on the dyno when doing this type of tuning???? seriously, not trying to be a smartazz, just very curious.....
Absolutely, and thats the only way Josh will do it. But possibly in the future a proven head/Cam Combo for a stock vehicle ie. 6.1 srt8 could come with a supporting base tune. For now the concentration is on "in-house" dyno-jet and Tuning via CMR.
so i am not smoking dope then..... well not at the moment anyway....... seriously, i always was under the impression that cmr tuning had to be done with the car on the dyno. i thought i remember reading somewhere on the OC about a b&g cmr tune that was a bit on the lean side..... it was an emailed tune, the car was never on the dyno in person. seems a bit risky to me, but again, i am in no ways an expert on this area at all!!!
You could be smoking dope :thumb3: but not on this issue. Your right it is risky, Basically Josh is on a "No Email Tunes" program. Alls he was suggesting was in the future its "Possible" that for example. Joe Blows got a stock srt8, He wants Type X Heads, Type X cam, well with that vehicle and combo its safe to say that "This CMR tune" will work. Kinda like a canned tuned within the predator. Not a 100% perfect tune for any individual , But again at this time its Dyno tuning ONLY.
Hey Josh, Any pricing for your CMR tunes yet? I'm in San Diego and could be to you in a little over an hour.
Leg, They can setup a base tune from one of their local sleds and then send it out to a customer, say you... Because of altitude differences, you, the customer could then go out and conduct a datalog on the street. Email the datalog to HoP and they could then fine tune your sled for your area. Make sense?
Also, Chris...I assume that these tunes may get you in the ballpark a lot closer as well and then you can take your ride to your local dyno/tuner guy, hook up the wideband...and he can make some adjustments on the handheld for you as well or email the tune back to HOP for adjustment. Most everyone has email at their shops nowadays or at least should.
CMR is from Diablo. It is the custom tuning that us Heavy modded people need. SCT is still working on a tuner for us.
ron, can't cmr tuing be used on all the rest of us "common" modded folks as well to see the absolute best we can see???? or are you just being an elitest bastard again???? hehehehehehehhe
CMR= Chip Master Revolution, meaning a shop or individual with software that can write to a Predator ( the device that actually installs the tune) that loads to the vehicle. I can just as Diablo has done write a generic program that I think will work good in vehicle's all over the US. The problem is that what works good in New York may not work well in say Miami Florida. So yes a CMR tune can work for the populous but is it the best...no.
so i need a predator to get a cmr tune? im a moderately modded guy (heads/cam) and i hear nightmare stories about predators on cam cars in the wrong hands. id be a perfect example of the wrong hands which is why i havent gotten one yet. could this be my big break? im pretty sure i can squeeze a little more out of my car then the b&g will let me.
Yes you need to have a Predator for a CMR tune. The nightmare stories you have been hearing about is from people making changes to there Hemi without verifying the changes via data logger and a wide band O2 sensor. Any dyno shop can verify your changes good or bad providing that they have a wide band O2 sensor present. Yes there is much to improve over the infamous B&G Tune.
