Does anyone know why I should spend $1,224.05 more for the GSM supercharger than the ProCharger supercharger! This is the price difference according to their websites. Does it come down to Dyno tests and results, word of mouth, # of superchargers installed or the flip of a coin!:hmm::search::dunno2:
BOLT ON is bolt on, "NO!" I have two friends that have put S/C on before. They tell me it's not difficult to install them it's the tuning that is a different story!
Are you having Mother Mopar Performance do the install? I saw a video somewhere where they grenaded the blower on their shop car. Might be better to have the same people who are going to tune it do the install? No finger pointing that way.
I am not sure why there is such a price difference. I know that Procharger is a very good brand. I run it on my 98 GMC Sierra and i have no complaints about it. Make sure to get the inter-cooled system.
Is the ProCharger available for the 6.1L? At SEMA, they only had it available for the 5.7L and talked about having the 6.1L available in a couple months. And YES, the TUNE is the key on any S/C application for our whips.
Procharger released the 5.7L kits but is still working on 6.1L...Also look for a Vortech Kit in the spring for the 5.7L and 6.1L So there will be more options soon!
Ryan, who the hell are you kidding anyway?!?! I'll make you a deal, you get one, then I'll get one that you buy for me?!!? Deal?
Because the inter cooler is added along with a couple of others that make the difference... And yes you get it dyno tuned within that $1224.05. That is a completed package instead of buying something cheaper and still need to buy other things :deshade:
My understanding is the price at GSM does not include install! Dyno tuned for $1,224.05, what a deal! I may be wrong, but my understanding is the price off their site is again without install & dyno. RPMoutlet.com shows the Procharger supercharger for the 5.7 and 6.1. I will call them tomorrow to verify. Remember people I'm not Ron the swami when it comes to car knowledge. Everything here is what I got off the internet or from phone calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROTGLMAO!!! Holy sht that is friggin' hilarious... OMG... Rick, without a formal review, a perfect 5. That is funny as sht.
Ryan, another reason there's a difference in price, is that the GSM blower is proven and their service/reputation is sound. Peace of mind may (?!) be worth the extra moola. But, if you're a cheap SOB, then fuk it... throw on some Costco sways and coilovers, add a Target CAI and a Walmart nitrous kit and roll like a mofo!
NO CHIT, What did they cost! Do they have them in stock. I'll head down there for lunch today. Jackarz, I'm well aware of the fact that their is a difference in anything you buy. If you saw the initial thread I was "ASKING" about the difference. I haven't decide on one over the other. I plan on going to GSM next year around Feb when everyone is meeting up. I would like to go up before, but will see with the holidays and the x-mas light contest. I did talk to Jeff at RPMoutlet today regarding the Procharger S/C! Ron like always was right. Jeff said the S/C for our cars isn't out yet, but should be out within the next month. Their number is (281) 261-6244. They are located in Texas. Difference in price between GSM and Procharger (RPMOUTLET) $6520.00 vs $5295.95 difference of $1224.05 S/C polished is $700 vs $199.95 difference of $500.05 Remember people I'm not here to put down GSM, I haven't heard a bad thing about them, the Procharger S/C or RPM outlet. The Procharger is listed as having the following: 2-core intercooled RPM Outlet Tuner Kit with P-1SC-1 6psi (8+ psi pulleys available) P-1SC, H.O. 2-core intercooled (Tuner kit features) handheld with calibration for 6 psi (8) supplemental fuel injectors 16 NGK supercharger v-power plugs upgrade to D-1SC for only $249.95 Doesn't VORTECH make the S/C used by GSM! Trying to learn here people, so help the smartest of the Eastlake "Q" Crew out.:king:
I'm just busting your balz... come on hun! You are a tenacious SOB, that's for sure. Hopefully, someone who knows something will reply... 'cause what I know is that I don't know sht!
