I've come across a ricer with a 06 Subbie STI that thinks Jeep SRT8s are a joke, his mods are: SPT Intake | SPT Catback | Cobb AP Stage 1. He wants to race at SA Raceway. Any takers? I want to see some burnt rice. :bang:
Maybe if I practice with my Dashhawk and get a colder thermostat I could do it. :good: There was a STI at the track on Wed running mid 12s,dont know his mods but a Jeep doesnt have a chance in Hell.
Lets assume I get Heads,Cam and a CMR Predator. I might get a additional 70 ponies, that will be 7 or 8 tenths. I might be at a 12.3 in good air, the air was perfect the other night(Front blew thru, low humidity and great Baro). Im mainly a Ford fan, however I appreciate all vehicles. The reason I got the Jeep is because with the vehicle allowance I get its the best I can get and still use to get up mountians, thru snow and carry my tools and a 7ft radio. To each his own, if that Subbie is at the track next time I go I wont back down on a race(Perhaps I can chop him on the tree) but I aint biting at no race. I was told by several people there is a Jeep that visits the track every Friday, he consistantly runs 11.7s. Perhaps he can kill this Subbie, what does this guy run(I dont have a clue what the mods are you listed) ?
It won't be a money race John, just for bragging rights. Based on his mods I would guess mid to high 12s--depending on how hard he smoked his drivetrain on launch. Get a CMR and you'll beat him unless he's ready to punish that thing. Of course headers + CMR and you'd be a shoe in. I think you're being a little too conservative with your estimated H/C ET potential. IMO we're going to see full bolt-on stock longblock Jeeps cracking the 11s this year. H/C should put you mid to low 11s with the right converter. DRs H/C package (with comp 268 cam) has laid down 75rw gains through a stock exhaust. Wait until you see my results with Al's heads/cam.
Im not conservative, I think Im being realistic and always will be. Andy, on my GT, for Keyboard Jockey purposes I dynod tuned to the 317RWHP. The first thing I did before I got off the dyno was take it back to 302RWHP,why ? Because at 302RWHP I had between 8-17 RWHP more throughout more of the graph than did at peak, the extra timing also made the tq fall faster on the 317RWHP run. The same goes for flow numbers on flow benches. My Mustang and my Jeep /were are daily drivers, I will take 10RWHP at 3000RPM than 15@6000 anyday. BTW- The right convertor is the stock convertor, I drive me vehicle up unfinished roads on steep grades. A convertor will kill my transmission with heat in a heartbeat with what I wil put it thru. Well Like I said Im not going to turn a race down, no way I would race a this guy for money even if it was yours. However, being your a Vendor and your looking for the kill. You can sponsor me with the parts, CMR tune and Predator. :magic::magic:
I think we both know the advantages to avg HP/TQ vs peak, that's not what I was getting at by referencing dyno #s. Besides, Al's not going to spec a hellaciously large cam for a 4800lb SUV either. My point was there are bolt-on Jeeps already running low-mid 12s, give it another race season and we'll see 11s. For you, it may be. Obviously you'll have to keep that in mind when choosing a cam if you ever go H/C. LOL, I'm just looking for someone to represent the Jeep SRT8 crowd. Like I said, it's a no money just for fun scenario so hopefully someone will step up.
