Is this new NX fuel fitting something you'd want to use in place of what comes stock in the Zex kit? In looking at a picture of the Zex kit, it looks like the fitting they supply makes you cut the fuel line?
Zex has an LX specific kit. It has a replacement fuel line with a branch built into it for fuel to the Nitrous fuel mixture box. C.
...or hit the button manually like I do.....just after the starting line about a car length out when the sucker is hooked.
....progressive Nitrous controllers..... the key to making a car work with N20 on the street. Best addition you could ever make to a nitrous kit ona street car (or a race car for that matter). Thanks Mike
Luckily, traction isnt such an issue with our jeeps as the LX and other rwd cars. This is an awesome progressive controller though. http://bwoodyperformance.com/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=154 This PROGRESSIVE NITROUS MINI-CONTROLLER combines the functions of our 2-STAGE TPS AND RPM WINDOW SWITCH and our HIGH CURRENT SOLENOID DRIVER all into one very compact module. It can progressively drive two channels, each with a 40 amp load capacity (continuous duty). The device also supports low-voltage OEM, V10 or 3 cylinder TACH signals without the need for additional adapters. It works with most OEM throttle position sensors including most drive-by-wire vehicles. This device also includes FJO's "real curve" ramp which allows you to create a progressive curve instead of just a ramp, and the ramp can be either time based or RPM based. All this and only the size of a spark plug box. The PROGRESSIVE NITROUS MINI-CONTROLLER is built for the racing environment to withstand heat, vibration, dirt and water. It is designed to operate over the temperature range from -40 to +185 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to +85 degrees Celsius). 2 independent channels Programmable ramp times (0.1 - 10.0 sec) Programmable delay times (0.1 - 10.0 sec) RPM or Time based linear ramp or multi-point curve Integrated wide-open-throttle detection 1st gear lock-out Works with rising or falling TPS signals Supports low voltage tach signals as low as 3 volts Works with irregular tach signals such as V10 and 3cyl Easy to use graphic set-up menus using PC USB Inputs for manual enable/disable or transmission brake, throttle position, tach signal Integrated LEDs for WOT, stage 1 RPM window, stage 2 RPM window High current solenoid driver with 40 amp load capacity (continuous duty)
The old universal type kit part # 82023 is the one where they want you to cut your fuel line.Thats the one I have I did a little customizing with my set up.Didnt really want to cut my line. The new kit #82177 comes with a adapter. They also leaned out the jets a little on the 82177.The 82023 runs a little fat on the fuel side. You will notice the fitting on the rail..
Thanks, You must have posted this before, what got me thinking about cutting the fuel line was an old post about two kits and using one with custom fuel rails. Now that we can mix and match, is there any reason to? I looked at the NX SRT kit and it seems the price on all the 25-150 range kits are all around $700 (OEM List). Is it down to just deciding whether you want a blue, purple, or white bottle and order the kit?
I have to say in the N20 kits I have used over the years,Zex was the easiest install I have ever done.Even a cave man can do it!!..lol..With thier cylinoids in that little box it makes a quick and tidy install. Now if you ever need a serious kit.IMO anything over 150 shot is getting serious, you may want a different co. that offers bigger cylinoids etc, etc,
the zex kit came with a line that replaced the factory part at the firewall. i removed the 12" hose from the metal line at the firewall and the fuel rail and put the kit supplied line on that has a tap fitting for the hose to the solenoid box. took 2 min to do and came with the plastic tool to remove the line.
