I'm pretty sure that's a Bischoff sheetmetal intake. Sure it would lose power vs. stock unless you dramatically alter (raise) the intended powerband of the motor. Those runners look to be 4-5" max vs around 9-10" stock. If you're spinning to 7-8k (or shoving a ton of boost down the longblock) the sheetmetal would own, but it will give up area under the curve at lower rpms.

PPP-any update on the UD pulleys?

    90mm

A 90mm throttle body is being worked on by some "Dodge motorheads". The issue is the intake manifold opening requires some matching/port mods to match the throttle opening or to take advantage of the added flow. Of course if you dont have at least heads to take advantage of the flow.......why bother?:sorry::sorry:

LS2/LS3 engines come with a 90MM TB stock and are similar engines in displacement. Works good for them; why not us on stock heads with the addition of a ported manifold since our heads flow alot better than at least the LS2 heads.

At least someone understands motors around here and how BJB's is not close to stock.. 426, 22psi, and an adjustable 100-500 shot of nitrous.. A stock manifold would not do what we wanted it to do and why would he want one that looks like everyone elses? :thanks:

And yep its a Bishoff piece

Yes that picture is a cable but that was just to have something for the pictures as BJB said. And with our tuning team on it I'm not seeing any issues tuning a 90 DBW.. and nope no stand-alone.

A 90mm throttle body will be larger than the factory manifold opening.....kinda like a funnel.....big to smaller.

I dont know what the flow numbers are on an LS2/LS3.......so I cant address that.

That intake should be just what the Dr. ordered. :thumb3:

Steve, our heads flow better than LS2s (which are LS6s) but not quite as well as LS3s.

Nice Andy, but remember, I like to do the cha cha

    YA IT DID:rofl2::dance4::pelvicsmilieys:

Ah bud, don't feel bad. I'm a pro at busting his nuts.

For all the effort, no it's complete over kill. For a motor that's properly prepared, it's a god send.

I am most likely the only guy right now with a manifold that will work with the TB properly. In order to run this with out an adapter. You will need to deck the TB mating surface and bore the manifold. It won't be cheap.

    Nice piece Matt, very impressive.

Thats what I mean.....the manifold would need to be bored. The 90mm TB being worked on is more than a simple bolt on.

I've heard the cost to prep the manifold to except the 90mm T/B will be around $400.00.

Our fabricated intake is setup for a 90mm.. When you really add up all the extras with it you can really justify the cost... Well at least i can..

BTW names Bryan, Business is Meticulous Fabrications but MetFab sounded wierd to me so i just made it matfab for the forums..

I would think anyone decent with a die grinder if not a dremel should be able to make short work of the intake opening.

Oh I know all about your manifold from hell :yahoo: When I close my doors, I wanna come to work for you.

The opening, it could be done that way. But your in for a project :wallbash:

Decking the mating surface where the TB mounts will require machining. At a min, you need to remove enough material to get ride of the o-ring recess. Drill the mounting holes for the TB deeper and tap.

BTW guys, I'm not trying to shot this one in the foot. I really want PPP to be able to make this happen. But getting hal to play nice is the problem.

Gotcha. Time for a trip to the machine shop I guess. :thumb: I'm running a ported stock TB now so I'm more interested in the UD pulleys at present anyway.

I may go ahead and see if I can get my shop to port my stock TB and be done with it. Sounds like it is a little too "extra" for this to happen or work well with anything less than a seriously modded engine. Thanks for all of the info.
