Yup, but the PMT could be tweaked as well, and the B&G might be overperformed at the track. Like the CAI thread, its all at the track, and now Dan can test that.
So was Ozzies, what a frucking beast she was. :boxing: Hey cb, I don't know if your aware of this or not. But Oz lost his motor over the weekend. The reason is not because of the tune. But because we're certain we finally had a real failure with a injector reaching it's max duty cycle and burning out. We won't really know until the autopsy is completed in a couple days. But I feel pretty safe saying this is what happened.
I only told you this because you have the same build. I would highly suggest you call Bruce and Dave and work something out about injectors and tuning bud. :thumb:
Just found this thread. As expected, great job Dave. Question for flybyu: Did you say you saw about 5 degrees of STKR with both B&G and PMT tunes? I ask because James has told me multiple times, among seeing him brag on the net about how he tunes for ZERO STKR. Apparently he learned something from looking at several of Dave's tunes, as in, how the PCM actually works. Again, great job Dave. Thanks for taking the time flybyu.
Or maybe the tune with the gas Dan had in the car cuased a bit more knock ? You are making assumptions again. -Robert
for the people looking for bigger injectors, we have them on our website. www.bwoodyperformance.com call the shop and talk with mike.
I guess Diablotoona guy from DiabloSport was speaking about a lightly modified SRT8 of he said they like to run on the rich side...I think he actually said something along the lines of the Hemi's like their gas and that 12.2 was an optimal A/F ratio at WOT. Dan, where did or do you have the wideband hooked up? I see the B&G's tune dips as low as 12.5ish near 5000 rpms but runs leaner in other areas... Reason I ask is that when I was running the Canned 93 CAI tune, I saw 13.6:1 A/F ratio and my tuner/dyno shop (whose actually only an sct authorized shop for now) added fuel with the handheld and the car made more power each time while reducing KTR. Care runs better now for sure..
It's not likely. I have never heard about it and there's a hell of a lot of people from all different car types running rich....but as Chris is saying about the rings....GotStroke mentioned this same thing a little while ago...so a gearhead should chime in on this.
Hemisfear, I gave Flybyou and tune based on his mods lists and put his A/F in a Safe Zone in the 12's at WOT he has the ability to adjust it now where ever he wants using the predator to optimize his A/F at what ever point his vehicle makes the best power. And yes 13.6 on the caned predator tune would be alittle lean and adding fuel would help your WOT HP numbers..
Great explanations Dave. I can't wait to try out the nitrous tune you just sent me. I will be sure to let everyone know my results. Once I get it on the dyno and get some numbers I will get with you so we can tweak the tune if its even needed.
In order to wash the rings out you're going to have to be in the mid 10s (where Mike@BWoody was with his PMT tune done on the dyno) or lower. Let's be clear, I'm not taking stabs, just stating the facts. High 11s won't hurt anything but it's not going to make optimal power either (N/A on our motors anyway).
