toasted motor

    i drove the car to our florida srt owners club meet (Florida's SRT Owner's Club - Powered by vBulletin :hi:), and on the way back after i got off the highway the coolant line under the intake manifold bursts, leaking all the coolant, the car got so hot the warning alarm started going off. ok so i fix that, then the other day i took my boss for a ride i hit it, then i looked back and i see nothing but a cloud of white smoke coming from the back of the car, every time i step on its nothing but a smoke screen.

    update; spark plugs have no oil on them, i see im leaking oil on my drive way, cant tell where its coming from. doesnt seem to be coming from the turbo it self, i checked the banjo bolts, none seem to be leaking.

    but i took my intake off, and there was about half ounce of oil on the coupler going to the turbo, there was also some oil in the inlet of the turbo going back to the fins.

    bad turbo maybe?

    ok so i did the compression test.

    cyl#1 80
    cyl#2 35
    cyl#3 90
    cyl#4 80

    then tried again but this time we poured a bit of tranny fluid in each cylinder.

    cyl#1 130
    cyl#2 35
    cyl#3 125
    cyl#4 105

    compression went up with the tranny fluid, that would mean the rings are bad right? i still dont understand why there is so much oil in the inlet of the turbo?

    ummmm, Cylinder #2 looks to be your issue.

    I am not an expert, but you only got 35 during both compression checks...

    a year ago my compression test said 175 across all 4 cylinders, sigh, im looking into finding a good motor or building this one.

    If cylinder 2 is still low you might have melted a piston or burnt/bent a valve.Is the PCV before ore after the turbo?If it's before you might be pushing oil through the PCV system with the bad rings.

    yea, and with that hand he'll take my arm, leg and first born, haha, i cant afford darrell man, i wish i could, but i might get better pistons, rods, reuse the bottom end, and build the head.

    the more i can do myself the less i have to pay another person, besides my cars are like my women, i dont like another guys hands all up in them :bottom:

    sounds like the rings went. unfortunetly the only fix is a new bottom end. sucks that it happened, good luck with her.
