Was with my neighbor John (the Sheriff) on the way home this afternoon from a trip to Sears (LCD browsing) and came upon two 'kids' in their early 20's rolling in an 04-ish Mustang Cobra. We were at a light, making a turn and they went past. I caught up to them and they started acting 'frisky'... goosing the Mustang, pulling along side of us, etc. etc. etc. The traffic was kinda heavy, so instead of being totally irresponsible, I did the following when they were RIGHT next to us as we pulled away from a light:

Autosticked into 1st, let the RPMs jump up to 3500... then down to about 3200... and then WOT at around 35 mph. I start going sideways, the tires SCREAMING, then a nice peel-out going into second to add a little icing onto the 'street cake'.

All of a sudden, Mr. Over-Confident Cobra Jr. didn't want to play anymore. He pulled up next to us at the next light, looked over quickly, then glanced away just as fast. Guess he wasn't aware of what my little 4400 lb 4 door was capable of! We pull away from the light and he's going EASY on the throttle, alongside the SUVs and econoboxes.

My neighbor was giggling like a school girl, saying "that was bad ass... holy fu_ _! He totally backed down!"

*Can this be counted as a kill? Pseudo-kill? Or just as the other guy chickening out?!?! Either way... Mopar or No Car once again baby!

NICE! Now his head isn't going to fit through the door.....It was probably because he was driving naked again, that is the reason the kid backed down. :bottom:

You know, I was reading this thread visualizing the car getting squirrly as it was doing the "come & get some dance", that was until I read this last post. Went from shit-eatin grin  to instant gag reflex

Momo, that is definitely a kill!
Best kill to come, the physcological kills.
That dude in the stang is ruined for life now!
He will never feel the same about his ride.

Thanks for the props! I have to give credit to Rick, though, for showing me the 3200 rpm launch... and the Predator for allowing me to break traction!!! WOoHOo!!!

I'm telling you, she's gotta be putting out about 440/450 ish after the Predator, maybe more. Getting her sideways a bit at 35 mph... with F1's... she's a beast for sure.

Naked? Hmmm... that could provide a huge psychological edge!

    That's what I was thinking.

I learned from the infamous Mustang-curb incident!

We started laughing about that after the fact, that we should badge the kids and give them a hard time! But, we were laughing too hard to actually pull it off. Then we were saying: "what if we get pulled over for racing and that kid gets his car towed/impounded, and we drive off?!?!" LMAO!!!

BTW: G was scared of John for the first 10 minutes she was around him on Sunday. Too funny. He blammed himself for being bald and 1/2 mexican as the reason she was scared. She warmed up after a bit and sat between he and I for a while. She was a blast... fun as hell to have around.

    "I'm here Huckelberry!"

No shit! Imagine my problems... having only Ryan and Drew close by!

Yeah, it was nice... she didn't go 180 sideways at that mph, but she kicked out a noticeable bit.

Moe, why would I drive to Mission Valley to watch your car pacrked with its hood open, while you show off your CF?!?!

I kind of thought it better than an outright kill, myself. As a Chinese General once wrote a few thousand years ago:

"To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting" - Sun Tzu, The Art of War
