How much per tire/shipping did you pay for yours?? The usual ebay source in Canoga Park is wanting $165 per with $20 ea shipping. I have a hard time with $185 per tire, mainly the $80 in shipping since they are only being shipped about 50 miles. I countered them at $155 each. I'm pretty sure someone on here said they got a set for this price. Looks like the price might be climbing as the word is getting out...
Raland, Call Jerry, Owner of Fairmount Tire, 323-750-2840, and he'll give them at $150@tire INSTALLED! ($140@tire if you're a LEO) Shop is in L.A. (Slauson Ave & Figueroa St.) http://www.fairmounttire.com/ Just got my Sessantas 275/40ZR20 on all 4 corners installed there and just love them. Good luck. Maarten
I just got them for $155 each. $150 installed is a crazy good price. I hope it lasts for those close enough to take advanage of it. The buy it now price on these has gone up to $190. Now I have to decide whether I want to put them on before the rumble for more traction or after so I can burn the crap out of my RSA's in a police free zone.
He'll just have to run it through the wife conversion process..... 22 inch rims + tires x 4 = x.x carats
Now I need more help... keeping me from kicking the crap out all the people I talked to today who can't understand why I'm replacing my "perfectly good", "aren't they almost new?", "hardly used" RSA's... I'm thinking of taking a couple out to lunch after I get the Vredesteins on...... roll it up to about 140 and ask them if they think I should have kept the old tires....
So, I'm going nuts trying to find someone, anyone who'll sell me some Sessanta's so I decided to contact Vredestein directly in the Netherlands...does anyone know what this reply means? I hope it means we'll be in touch soon and in English... Bedankt voor het invullen van het algemene informatie formulier. Wij zullen zo spoedig mogelijk contact met u opnemen. Vredestein Banden B.V. Seriously though, anyone in upstate NY who can direct me to a seller/installation shop close to the US/CDN border?
The ebay shop where I bought mine ship very quickly. You should still be able to hammer them down to $165 per tire on the best ofer and I think shipping is $23 per time. Do a search for vredestein 275/40 and look for seller cleaningoutthegarage.
Yeah, Ralph, thanks...shipping, taxes & duty will plunk about another $ 400 onto my final cost but it'd still be a deal I think given $ par. Then there's local mounting/balancing costs...I just can't help but think it'd make sense for me to drive to a local US shop close to border to get 'em. I came across that ebay ad (the shop has a bunch of them apparently). and if I understand correctly, the 40 series is the SUV tire while the 35 series is the UHP car tire. Do some of our members have both? I'd figure the SUV version to be stiffer sidewall? Dunno...anyone, anyone?
There's a guy at SRT8OC.com doing a group buy right now...and he's in NY. Here is a link: http://www.srt8oc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16425&highlight=vredestein&page=13
Thanks, Bud. 7 beans would be a smoking deal shipped. In theory, I'd just have to figure out what install garage in Ogdensburg to ship 'em to...I'm gonna make a few calls on Monday. Thanks again. Anyone know when the order is planning to be placed?
Off topic: Ogdensburg?!?! Isn't that on the St. Lawrence Seaway?!?! Or there abouts? I went fishing up there YEARS ago and caught a 32" Northern Pike... near the 1000 Islands, right?!?! BTW: Thousand Islands Dressing was first made at the namesake in NY.. at an Inn.
Yup, great waterway but a bit of an armpit at the border when I was last there 15 years ago (outlet mall heaven not my deal). 1000 Islands rock though, with countless people out on the water for a good time, you can tie-up and make a new "best friend" (said in a drunken slur) every hour if you want...until you pass out.
