We now have the 6.1L bare blocks available to order from Mopar. These are factory production blocks with cam bearings already installed. We should have these up on our web site tomorrow with current pricing. Right now we have in stock ready to ship 6.1L short blocks and long blocks. Nice!! Can you get the shortblock WITHOUT the rotating assembly? For that price, who cares if I blow-up the motor now!
JMatt, Yes we can, that was what the post stated above the long block and short block. We will add this to our site tomorrow and I will post the link to the BARE BLOCK on our site.

Awesome!!! It's about time! My biggest beef with Mopar has been their complete ineptness at recognizing and supplying the groundswell movement started by the SRT-8's. It's no different than Dusters in the early 70's. Mopar didn't expect people to be racing Dusters, but that's what happened. So Mopar recognized it and started catering to the market. 35 years later they're still making money hand over fist selling crate motors to people racing old Dusters and the like. For some ridiculous reason, they can't seem to catch on this time around. I've had my SRT-8 for 34 months, and finally some crap starts trickling out of Mopar? In the meantime people, literally working out of their home garages, are developing everything from intakes, shocks, brakes, ported heads, custom pistons, taking rods designed for other motors and making them work, etc, etc. Talk about missing the boat Mopar. Rant over. Thanks - it's about time. (and yes, I realize I am talking about MOPAR - not the good folks at MPSC. MPSC has been part of the solution. Not the problem)
Damn... It's getting really hard sticking to paying off my visa with my bonus. I'm a republician, I should be embracing a deficit spending policy right?? ..:chair:
The aluminum block is not yet available. According to Mopar, it should become available within the next couple months. No pricing has been established to date.
I saw a video (sema?) of a dodge guy talking about the 392 crate motor and he mentioned they would have an aluminum block out in 2008 that had enough meat in the bore to make 440 cid. Is this the same thing or is this just an aluminum version of the normal production cast iron block? (maybe one and the same?)
