    Oh Oh... I need help!

OK. I have the Predator with 91 CAI tune. Update 16a. I bumped my shift points up by 300 when first installed, no problems... until tonight!

In autostick, the shifts are lurching, almost like the gears aren't catching kind of like a jerking motion, hesitant almost, then it shifts then its fine. This happens at WOT at/near redline, in autostick for gears 1-3, maybe beyond, but I haven't pushed it. Then the yellow indicator light in the lower left of the dash (near fuel tank level) goes on and it looks like a little transmission. That goes on during the hesitation, then off when the shift is complete.

    HELP!

Did you up the rpm limit?....and then select 'raised' shift points? Sounds like you're hitting the limiter J. Return to the stock tune. Then reload 91, adjust rpm limit to just beyond the 6400 shift point and select raised shift points.

I think that's what I did. Rick helped, so hopefully, he'll read this.

16a seemed like it shifted crisper than 18... but... why would it start doing this after like 3 weeks?!?!

Ooops, sorry Jason. Forgot you had an 07. Yes, 16a did not play nice with 07 srt8s. Must use a later version as 16a gave a lot of 07 guys probs.

I could; but the queue is blocked waiting for you to measure Rick's suspension...

Sounds like you're hitting the rev limiter. From what everyone else is saying it sounds like you should go to a newer revision. My advice is go to a later revision. Then set raised shift points. Then do +50 or more on the rev limiter. Try it. Keep an eye on the rpms. When you do raised shift points on do you know where they set the rev limiter? Was it shift at 6400 with rev limiter at 6450 or 6500? I think 50 over the shift point is way too close. 100 over the shift point might be too close as well.

This ain't like the stuff you buy at WalMart. You could put your eye out with this thing.

Is the Check Engine Light still on? What code are you getting?

Edit: never mind...I see you said it went off.

THanks for the advice folks. I'll try doing the 18 version. But its weird... why would it do this after 3 weeks and not right after install?!?!

I had to take the pooch to the vet for his rabies update (wasn't driving the car).

    I'll give this 18 thing a go.

    THanks again everyone!

try and look for codes. even if the light went off if it flashes that means the computer saw something it didnt like then it went away. check the codes and see if they are logged still. alot of times they will be.

Also, what is the difference between 17 and 18? To me, 17 seemed to HOLD the shifts, almost dragging them out for some reason (why I went with 16).

I'll second that... the shifting on my 07 was fubar until rev 17 which is what I'm running now. There was specific talk that 16x had problems on 2007's.

in the pred, from the first menu I think it says Diagnostics or something, there it will say read codes. There are "soft codes" that can be stored but don't turn on the light...

Jason...unless you changed back to 16a on your own (which I doubt you did) you are running version 17. Raise your rev limiter "another" 100 rpms. We only raised it 200 rpms.

In my 06 I had this issue when I raised my shift points... couldn't figure what the hell was going on, then something about food popped into my head at the split second it did it again...Took me a minute to figure it out. higher shift points means the car is being asked to go farther into the rpm band than it is used too, so being a stupid machine it will do as programmed...Well one thing wasn't programmed into this process...

    FOOD

Program A requires XXX amount of food at rev limiter

Raised rev limiter on XXX mount of food means it will start to starve. It needs XXXV

SOO I thought duh increase it's food (fuel) with increased rpm range...

So I did, I gave it 2% , 2% and 4% across the board and she loves it now..no stutter especially at max rpm

OK I'm done now..hope this makes sense and helps you out
