108 Octane unleaded racing fuel. Highest octane you can buy and still be unleaded.

I'm not even sure what I paid. Probably can be had for about $325. Fuel stays fine while it's sealed up. It'll easily be good for longer than it'll last me. I'll open it late March, and it'll be gone by July. I got mine straight from Torco. One of the Torco Top alcohol dragster teams is about 3 miles from me. They just ship a barrel for me when they get an order of Nitro for themsleves.

You load it into a pick-up truck using a fork lift with a barrel attachment. I got it out of the truck by laying it on it's side, sliding it out until the balance of weight wanted to tip it to the ground. I then held it as it slipped down onto a tire. Then rolled it into the garage. You use a siphon style pump to get the fuel from that tank and into 2.5 gallon gas tanks.

See above - I fill a couple of 2.5 gallon gas tanks and carry it to the track with me. I also have some leftover 5 gallon Torco fuel cans that I can refill.

It's a heck of a lot better deal than buying it at the track. This way I always know exactly what I've got.

Many people don't realize it, but every brand and variation of race fuel has a different amount of oxygen in the fuel. You really need to set your air fuel ratio up for the speciifc brand of fuel you use. That's how I do it and I get very repeatable reliable results.

In the end it's a lot cheaper than any other option.

there is a Shell station down from my house that sells 110 unleaded racing gas....I have questioned them about it being unleaded and they swear it is.........nozzle fits the smaller unleaded fillers....I assume they are inspected.....up until 8 months ago the pump had a sign that read "Lead Fuel - Off Road Use Only".....the sign was removed and the unleaded nozzle installed..

    Very nice!

I looked into getting some Torco fuel here in SD. There is no distrubutor in the state so I contacted them directly. There were very nice to work with and I could probably become a dealer if I ordered a pallet of 5 gallons or drum.

I never followed up about becoming a distributor but giving it a second thought now that I know there is no fuel sold at Qualcomm (not even pump gas). There may be rules against it, if not I could see all those ricers buying up 5'vers of 100 octane for $65 a can and putting some $$ in my mod fund.

What did the team have to say about losing the Torco $$?

In case you didnt know Torco pulled ALL sponsorship money from ALL race teams. The ones they own and also racers they sponsor. Blamed it on Evan's health. Still sponsoring some events.

Its a big blow to the racing industry. Happened last week.

Surprise surprise. Yes - it came up in the discussions. My source is a Torco OWNED team, as opposed to a Torco sponsored team, and the driver did point out they were grounded. They're there working, but can't go racing. I didn't realize sponsorship money was gone too.

He did indicate it was blamed on Evan's health. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but apparently Evan suffered a severe injury in a Dodge Viper back in November. If the whole deal relies on one man so much, they really need some business continuity planning, or Torco will vanish.

2004? WTF? Either I didn't hear everything, or it was said in a misleading manner.

That could have a HUGE impact on drag racing in 2008. Torco is WAY too involved in way too many cars for that gap to be filled quickly.

I thought all his sponsorships were working out. Torco was becoming more of a known name, compared to even a couple years ago when not many were very familiar with them. This could hurt a lot of racers.

Anyone can have a bunch at the shop. Call me when you start taking home delivery. LOL

OK - on a serious note: 10 55 gallon drums? What kind of VP? Around here the VP was prohibitively more expensive, and doesn't come in as high an octane in an unleaded formulation.
