Lot's of people don't know they exist... It's baically the SRT-4(neon) package crammed into a PT Cruiser body (2003 and up), they are also offered with an autostick & traction control. I had lot's of fun with mine (an auto), with only a Stage 1 PCM, modded air box, BOV, and exhaust mods. Those mods put the car about even with a stock SRT-4 ( the PT is a heavier car & has a more restricted intake) 2003 and up Dream Cruisers also have the same drivetrain.
The GT Cruiser is what we have!!! Same motor same turbo and just as fun ours is an 05 and has the Autostick and traction control so far the mods on ours is: 3in intake upper and lower hardpipes 10mm wires NGK 4306s 2.5 in catback 180deg t-stat SRT-4 Stage 2 WGA Stage 1 PCM 26mm swaybar Hawk HPS pads Boost is set at 17psi soon to go on is a 3in downpipe with E-cutout
Buahahahahahaha...now I gotta meet some PT guys, to find out what's been done to the Mrs car. IDK, but I suspect the Magnaflow exhaust, and the airraid intake are not stock.
its got alot more done to it now!!! we decide to not go with the E-cutout and just get a full 3in turboback strightpipe exhaust.
I own a 2004 gt cruiser 4 speed auto stick with a 2.4 t and traction control...my aunt owned it brand new till a few weeks ago I took ownership...I love it..it has leather and fully loaded..I've installed wheels, cold air intake and a muffler as of right now, till I go d more info on what I want to do for new turbo and exhaust system. I am also looking to tune it and meth injection.... Anything I need to know before building on this platform would be greatly appreciated.. I've recently owned and built 1999 Ford svt contour- heavily tuned 1996 Sun fire gt- fully built motor with nitrous 2005 Chevy cobalt s/c With meth injection mild internals added to motor... Not new to cars and tuners but always preferred the unusual models and built them to my preference.....I have quite a few projects in the works in the next few weeks....
For tuning i would suggest the Diablo Sport tuner you can find it at Modern Performance There are a few threads in here that explain what is available for mods on the PT. I will first say there is no aftermarket intercooler for the PT, if you want one you'll have to make it. and theres a thread explaining what you would need for sizes behind the narrow bumper.
