Which Challenger is the most comfortable riding from SXT, R/T AND SRT? ARE THERE ANY GROUND CLEARANCE PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF THESE MODELS AS FAR AS CEMENT CURB PARKING SPACES AND SPEED BUMPS GO? I NOTICE GROUND CLEARANCE IS DIFFERENT WITH SRT AND SXT.
I think the biggest thing you need to worry about with these cars is the cement parking stops. They can catch on the SRT's or R/T's that have the front lips on them. I have backed into spaces forever to prevent that all the way back from my days with the mustang, so its never been an issue for me. That or I park in the middle of nowhere to keep the car safe from dings lol
It's those cement parking curbs that are in the parking space up front which would be under air dam. I have seen several SXT Challengers do clear those. In a Corvette those cement curbs take out the front plate and can damage the radiator supports. Mustang GT is fine.
The Challenger SRT lip (that black plastic piece that hangs down below) is probably not able to get over those, but I think SOME R/T packages come with that as well. I know its even a problem for OEM SRT8 Chargers (06-09)
So the only factory OEM Challenger that clears those curbs, parking cement barriers are the SXT models? I remember looking at the spec. sheets on all 3 Challenger models on ground clearance and the SRT is definitely lower.
It depends on if the challenger comes with the lip. See the lip on the top vs the much smaller lip on the bottom.....
There is some form of lip on all the cars, but the ones on the SRT's are much more pronounced than on the SXT's and even many of the RT's I believe. As with anything, it is plastic and can be removed or replaced with little effort.
These cars do have lots of ground clearance as you can see especially from rear. But from what I have seen those front ends clear at least on the factory set up.
Look at the 392 lip vs even the 6.1 hemi SRT8 lip...see the difference in size. I would be careful when pulling into a spot as you never know how tall those parking stops are lol
Maybe the Mustang would be after the Corvette-worst and then the Challenger would fare out the best in this area as far as bottoming out on a factory suspension.
My freind has one. Paid close to $70,000:novote: You are now in Corvette territory in that price range.:blink::shok::scare::shock:
Depends on the Corvette, A roush Stage 3 is way cooler than Corvette. I'll see how I feel when I see the new stingrays around....but as of today, i'd take me a Stage 3
We will have to see when the verdict comes out on that engine on new Corvette run on 4 cylinders or 8 cylinders. Sounds like the MDS on the automatic challengers.
Z-06 is designated as a track car. Will be too bumpy to drive on real world public roads. Most people would do better with the base model for a good balance of everything.
