    Through a PM I got at SRT8OC.....
I got an invite from BFGoodrich to test their new "g-Force Sport Comp-2". tires. Called the "BFGoodrich AWESOMECROSS event", it will be held at El Toro Marine Base on 03/03/12.

I will be test driving selected cars on a track with and without the new Sport Comp-2 tires.

One of 25 people selected and.....
I get a new set of 275/40/20 Comp-2 tires.... free. I need a set bad and free is cool.

From what I have read, these seem like really good tires. Great sidewall strength and grip.

    Can't wait...

    The episode continues...

    Today they delivered my "invitation".....
    It was a tire!

A BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 "blank". A full size tire with no tread.
In place of the tread was my invite melted in. What a trip!
It describes the event and had a place for my times from the event to be added. I have to take the tire to the event to have it finished.

Stay tuned for pics, when the tire is finished.
    This should be some experience....

    What an interesting event!
It was done at the same place where Springfest is held, so I was aware of the area, which was good because it was pitch black. Remember the event took place after the sun set. I was in the 1st group (4 groups were scheduled) which was the 6:45 pm to 10:30 pm group (it went till after 2 AM).
There was a small tent that was the only thing that was lit up. We went there then a van with blacked out windows picked us up and took us a short distance to the event.

It was held in the same hanger where they filmed the commercial with Sam Hubinette drifting in his charger.
We left the hanger through a lit tunnel onto the course. There was a blacked out Mercedes Benz SUV "chase car" with a camera boom that filmed us on the course. There was also a few remote controlled helicopters that also were filming. It was huge production, there were probably 20+ people handling the production filming. It is supposed to be a web commercial when it is done.

It was a nice course with a short straightaway, slalom area, 2 sweeping turns and a wicked turn that went negative on the back side. It was well lit up with a different types of lighting that changed colors depending on where your car was on the track and how you were driving.

The cars had all sorts of sensors installed to measure different G forces and how we were driving. We even had an EEG sensors hooked to us so they could monitor our "mood".
I had a chance to drive a VW GTI, Subaru STI, and a Mustang Boss 302. We could not pick our cars and I got the STI. It was quick and agile and judging by the size and "tightness" of the course I don't think the Boss would have been the best bet.

There were 2 professional drivers in our group, so there scores were pretty high. My top speed and g-force was 47 mph and .90 Gs, they did 48-50 mph and 1.0-1.2 G.

BFGoodrich was not able to finish engraving the "invitations" (tires) for us, so they are shipping to me with video of my run.
When I get my tire back I will post some pics.

Here is some info on the event with pics..

I have received my tires and they are mounted and "Road Force" balanced.

They feel very nice on the road and are quieter than the Vred. I may say they seem to grip better. But I haven't gotten a chance to really "stretch" them yet.

I will be showing them at Springfest and will have some information on the tires.
    Including my "AWESOMECROSS" invitation tire.
