    Hello Everyone!
My wife and I are about to become SRT8 owners...this will be our first Mopar and looking at all the features on the SRT8 Challenger & Charger I'm impressed. We're coming out of an Lexus isF and I just wanted to have some American Muscle now...don't get me wrong, the 5.0 in the Lexus is a pulling beast, and the trans is the best auto I've ever driven.

I have driven/raced BMWs and Porsches, but those days are behind me now.
Now I'd like to really feel some Trq. and HP!

I'm hoping to learn a whole lot more about the SRT8 brand/performance and hopefully will some day be able to contribute to this forum.

Right now, I'm torn between the Challenger and the Charger...I like the looks of the Challenger, but I like the practicality of the Charger (4doors).
I hope this forum will help me to decide which way to go...I know it is ultimately up to me, but any help/info on the 2 models would surely help.

See you all on the forums!

Get the Challenger... to heck with Practicality.

    (But, I may be biased)

Either way you will be pleased...

    Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome and congratulations, whichever you decide. I didn't have the option of a Challenger when I made my purchase, but I think I prefer the more aggressive look of the Charger, plus the fact I can haul my family in it without anyone having to climb over the front seat. Still, there are those that moved from the Charger to a Jeep version because they wanted even more room. In any case, you can't go wrong which ever you decide.

Welcome to the forum! Are you looking at brand new SRT's?

Like Tam, I did not have the option of the Challenger when I purchased my 300 but I still needed a 4 door then. Now, if I were of a mind to sell or trade my 300 today (which I am not), I'd go for the Challenger because I no longer need 4 doors.

The powertrains in the SRT cars are essentially the same so you aren't missing out on anything in that department. It's more of an aesthetic choice and what options you want that will lead you one way or the other.

Good luck with your purchase! We EXPECT to see some pictures of the car after you purchase it. :D

Either ONE would be a great choice!!! However when the SRT Drive team visted our area and was fortunate enough to check them all out.... I thought I'd honestly love the Challenger; but I honestly changed my mind after sitting in both ~ just thought the Charger was so much nicer inside. AND... the 300 SRT was very cool also! (Thats the one the wife liked.)

LOL! Yeah I hear you on the Practicality issue, but I think I may be starting to grow up...not exactly a good thing when it comes to toys!
Yeah, I'm sure I will be pleased either way...I just want to be really pleased LOL!

Yeah I like the aggressive look of the charger as well, but then again when I look at the Challenger I start to replay Vanishing Point in my head and start to lean that way...sheesh! We actually started out looking at the Jeep, but decided to go with either the Challenger or the Charger.

We're looking at new, and yes I'll post some pics, but it won't be flashy or anything...I'm looking at getting White...the more sleeper look if these car can even have a sleeper look.

I like the roominess of the Charger and I have to agree, it did look nicer, but I need to go back to the dealer and check it out once again.

Yup that's what I plan to do, my only problem is at the moment I like both, but can only afford one...LOL!

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome and response.
My wife and I will definitely need to spend more time at the dealers driving the two cars before a final decision is made.

I have an auto trans question which I'll post in the Charger forum, as I would think both cars would use the same trans. I'd like to get the 6sp but there is just too much traffic here and I'm contending with that on the days I drive my 911 to work.

The front of the Charger SRT kinda gives it away. It truly does not look like a sleeper! LOL
