Spent $5 on bridge toll and $20 at the gate for all-access to the stands, and paddock at Infineon, and in the process introduce Mom and Madeline to what I'm really into. Considering Madeline did not want to leave the pedestrian bridge over the track, or even to leave to go home, I think she has the bug. Maybe next time I can actually drive my Charger on the track. :)

Tam, what was that event, a track day? Not the drags. Quite an odd collection of cars, trying to figure out what for. Regardless bet you were dying to get your car out there huh? :)

It was a NASA event, all curves no straight lines, just the way I like my track days. And yes, if I had the money for good tires, gas, and the track day fees, I would so be out there. Madeline and Mom loved it, so I might actually have co-pilots/pitcrew next time I go out. The guys I got in with, used to do HIN events, but they're trying to get in on NASA. They scored us some primo-parking for $20 a car, plus all access to the paddock and the stands. Just no track time. :(

I have been running with NASA since 07... mainly in So Cal... good group of people, lots of different cars, classes and experience levels.. web site is here.

    www.nasaproracing.com

there is also a NCRC group in Nor Cal that does some pretty fun stuff as well.

    www.ncracing.org

Matt R was involved I believe with Speed Ventures as well.. These organizations are more orientated to road & auto cross type events..

To me there is no better way to to have fun ... with your clothes on anyway..

But beware this is highly addicting... I take the Maggie out may be once every two years to the track.. just to clean out the pipes... and scare people with it going in to corners & throttle steering out of the corners

However I went an bought a used M3 primarily for track events.. and my primary daily driver (10 mi round trip for me guys... sorry).

Put in 6 track events this past year for over 15 days.. plus a set of good coil overs shocks, ECU tune, dedicated track tires and rims, two set of pads and 4 major fluid changes engine tranny, SMG pump, coolant, diff and brake fluid.. plus hotel & a few meals, lots of adult beverages for the evening...

There are about 30 -40 drivers who always seem to show up & we just have a blast.. if you do develop a problem.. some one will always be around to help you out.. or give you a ride or tow home..

Thanks for the info, Ken. And yes, it is addicting. If it hadn't been for Willow Springs, I probably never would have known to upgrade my swaybars, and I wound up doing six track events the year before I got pregnant. Now I'm looking forward to paying off college loans and getting a used SRT to mod out and take out to tracks on a semi-regular basis.
