My car hit 30,000 miles today.

It also decided to purge the coolant overflow tank and spray all over the drivers side of the engine bay. The car didn't overheat, only ran about 5-10 degrees warmer all day than it has. Today was about 20 degrees ambient air temps higher than it has for the last week. Not sure if that factors in or not.

Could this just be the radiator fail safe kicking in? Maybe need to buy and replace the thermostat? Hopefully not the beginnings of a head gasket going bad (no oil in the reservoir, or other indications)?

Nothing like hitting 30K and things just start going a bit haywire. First it was a desktop computer this weekend, now this. :erm:

Thanks for any input you guys have.

Dude. I will tell you this. That's EXACTLY how it started with my head gasket. EXACTLY.

And these guys gave me the saaaaaaaaaaaame advice. I replaced 2 rad caps, 3 tstats, 2 ECT sensors, burped the cooling system more than 7 times, replaced 2 fan assemblies, replaced the coolant reservoir. All this over the course of 18 months, only to have coolant ruin my engine bay every time I drove the car. And had MUUUUUUUUULTIPLE stranded on the side of the road moments. That mounted so much frustration and wasted fuckin time and $$$$ that I can't even begin to add up. And ya wanna guess what it was the whole time???? Yup. A fuckin head gasket. And I NEVER had oil in the coolant. NEVER had coolant in the oil. And I never had water in my exhaust. EVER. The only symptom that ever reared it's ugly head, was coolant spew out of the reservoir tank, that's it.

I pray for you, it's NOT a head gasket. I seriously do. But I'd be full of shit to sit here and tell you not to check it. I wish I'd had done that, and saved myself all that wasted investigation & labor. I wish you luck my friend, not tryin to scare ya, just trying to save you the heartache I endured for a fuckin year and a half!!!!!

Ps - if you search my threads on here, you'll find 2 or 3 I had on this very issue.

I wish I knew what that meant Dave. I'd like to laugh, but I have no idea what it means. :)

I'll be taking some time to find a good place here locally that is reputable to check it out.

Sadly, checking a head gasket isn't an easy chore, but I'm hoping they can do it without killing my bank. The local dealership here isn't very good, and will not get any money from myself or any of my friends that have Dodge's. This place is horrible.

I need to win the lottery and pay it off so it can be rebuilt to stupid specs, then ran hard like it deserves. Of course a daily driver is a must then, not going to play hard and not have something to go to work in. :sly:

    Thanks, this is why :ilovesrtc:
