The trunk release button on my dash does not work. The key fob will open the trunk though.

I was looking in my trunk last night and thought I should straighten up the wad of wires the former owner left around the tire pump. I then notice a wire I had not seen before. It has a plug on the end and comes from under the trunk liner. Could this be the reason my button does not work.

I looked around the trunk for a place to plug it in but did not see anything. Thought I might check here before I start removing panels and have to replace fastners.

Anyone know where this goes and what it does?

Do you have the factory sub on that side? Looks like the plug for it to me...My car isn't here with me (at work) bu I don't recall anything electrical that went through the foam insert like yours is. I'll try and remember to look in my trunk when I get home.

Might have been the connector for that 300 shot he was firing off 2 or 3 times a night...
