My buddy used to be a dealer for them, but got out of it to pursue a LEO career. So I can't really help ya. But out of curiousity, why are you going away from the 0w40 Mobil1?

You can sign up to be a preferred customer or become a dealer. Same price to buy, but dealer is for a business so you can make a profit. Check to see if you have a warehouse near you. (The only other warehouse out west is in Las Vegas.) Otherwise has to be shipped to a dealer in your area. A 12 qt case of Amsoil European 5w-40 is $89.25. They have a warehouse in Ptld, OR, so I just go pick it up.
I've been using Amsoil in my vehicles for years and they like it. For example, I had a 99 Durango and it got couple more miles per gallon after I switched to Amsoil. It's more expensive than Mobil One though.

I want to get a higher low end for the viscosity (like 5w or 10w) to solve racket from the squirters. I live in sunny SoCal so I don't really need that low of a cold viscosity.

I know Mobil1 also comes in 5w40 (turbo diesel truck oil) so I also may use it instead......if I can find it.

There is also a Mobil1 ESP 5w40 for Mercedes and Chrysler?

It was back in August 2009 that my dealer switched from 0w/40 to 5w/40 for my oil changes. Said Chrysler switched them, or that's what Chrysler was sending them or something like that. On the invoice it went from:

    5127394-AA : OIL 0W40 1081090
    to
    5127394-AB : OIL 5W40 1081090
