SRT8U - 3.55 ------------------------ Richmond Gear - Press Release Richmond Gear announces the introduction of gear sets designed specifically for the new Dodge Challenger, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. These new 215 mm gears are available in both 3.23 and 3.55 ratios. Also known as the SRT platform, these gears will be used behind Chrysler’s 6.1 L Hemi. Chrysler offered gear ratios in the range of 3.07 and numerically lower, for production cars. Richmond Gear engineering using our expertise in designing high performance gears, developed these gears to improve the performance of the SRT vehicles. ------------------------ :worthy:
Too much for my blood but this list will be very much dependent on the price Lisa.... Do you have any sorta idea on a general pricing for this?...all gears so far have been MUCHO DENERO! lol Just asking to help you guys out cause thats what everyone who sees this is gonna be thinkin :thumb:
I know pricing will be a key factor, and as soon as I have the info, I'll post it. This is just brand spankin' new from Richmond yesterday, and they don't even have this press release on their site yet! Not from Richmond at this time, but we do carry some complete rear-end options from other manufacturers, and there are new axle options in the works as well.
Retail is $650 and the lowest we can advertise is $550. We will be able to ship these out within a few days, so post if you are interested and we'll keep working on getting a group buy possibly put together.
if its just the gears and I can switch them in and call it a day I am down. I dont want to have to buy a whole new rear end
WOAH!!!!!!!!.....make sure to highlight the crap out of those prices....you'll have to beat people away with a stick! haha thats awesome!!!....time for the times to drop
Lisa how much is the install going to cost rne you think? how much is my top end speed going to change? what will be the biggest positives with the 3.55's thanks
We have 3.23 gars in stock and ready to go for your 215mm rear end! Want 3.55s? We can get those in just a couple of days to you!
Google gear ratio speed calculator and you can determine speed @ RPM in various gears with different rear end end set-ups. Note tire diameter is also a part of the equation. http://www.kabamus.com/garage/gears.html http://www.apexgarage.com/tech/gear_ratios.shtml
For the SRT8 here is auto trans ratio's: Trans Description Cont. Automatic First Gear Ratio 1) 3.59 Second Gear Ratio 1) 2.19 Third Gear Ratio 1) 1.41 Fourth Gear Ratio 1) 1.00 Fifth Gear Ratio 1) 0.83 Reverse Ratio 1) 3.16 Final Drive Axle Ratio 1) 3.06 With 20" F1 tires dia. is 29.3" I think. You can look this up to be certain of tire diameter. For the Tremac T6060 the ratios are: Trans Description Cont.: Manual First Gear Ratio 1): 2.97 Second Gear Ratio 1): 2.10 Third Gear Ratio 1): 1.46 Fourth Gear Ratio 1): 1.00 Fifth Gear Ratio 1): 0.74 Sixth Gear Ratio 1): 0.50 Reverse Ratio 1): 2.90 Final Drive Axle Ratio 1): 3.92 Hope this helps I had a custom rear end built with 3.55 rear end and my 6 speed ratio's are: 1ST GEAR 2ND GEAR 3RD GEAR 4TH GEAR 5TH GEAR 6TH GEAR 2.71 1.79 1.30 1-1 .89 .75 Remember tire diameter also must be considered. I run 28" diameter slicks. Using the calculator you can compare the calculated speed at RPM in each gear. Also, co-efficent of friction is a factor when looking for top speed. The drag coefficient of 0.353 (9.01 CdA) is fairly high for a modern car, and similar to the 300C SRT8 (at 0.355).
