Sorry I'm late to get the word, but I'm completely devastated by the photos of the aftermath in Tuscaloosa. Please check in when you get a chance. I'm going to try and call my uncle and his family during the next few days, if only to make sure they're okay. They live just a short distance from MacFarlane Ave?, just a few miles south of the University. My cousin posted this on facebook just 10 hours ago from out in front of their house: I was born at DCH way back in the late 70s, when it was still Druid City Hospital and Bear Bryant was still kicking butt. My dad and his parents are buried down in Eutaw, AL.
On weather.com it shows a pic a massive one in Birmingham. Isnt that where chase is? I know we have a much of members from that whole reigon, hopefully they can check in and give us the all clear sign they are ok. To give some scope...this is the map the weather channel provided with locations of Tornado outbreaks. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=&q=http:%2F%2Fmaps.google.com%2Fmaps%2Fms%3Fie%3DUTF8%26hl%3Den%26vps%3D1%26jsv%3D334b%26msa%3D0%26output%3Dnl%26msid%3D204109457876052646118.0004a1f774a7ef9249f88&aq=&sll=34.198173,-88.352051&sspn=9.190495,19.753418&ie=UTF8&ll=33.541395,-89.165039&spn=9.663306,23.269043&t=h&z=6
I've been in Greenville, SC all week. High Winds last night, but that's all we saw here. Hope all are ok in the southern region?
Just got off the phone with Chase. He and the family are good to go. I will let Chase tell his story though.
Hey guys, I'm tired as hell. Been a long few days. I can't even begin to tell you how close I was to all this disaster. I was IN TUSCALOOSA, and RIGHT NEXT to the tornado that destroyed the town. I'd like to type all the details, but I'm spending time with my wife, and off to bed. But I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all you guys. The fact that you even thought of me, let alone CALLED (pretty cool of ya Ron), just amazes me. I haven't even met 95% of you guys, yet you think of me when stuff like this happens. Just blown away by the love and compassion that is shared within this LX community. My heart goes out to you all, and my appreciation is unending...... I'll post up all the details when I have time/feel like typing, lol. Love you guys, nitey nite......
Clean out the crap stains in your pants (which im sure we'd all have haha) and give everyone a hug...we will be here waiting lol. Glad to hear you are safe buddy. :friends:
