got a question. As far as big wheel stock/s3 turbo's go. Why does everyone knock the idea of putting a bigger wheel into a stock turbo but not for a s3 turbo. Every time I read a thread it's don't put a big wheel that isn't meant to be there in the stock turbo, it's awaiting failure. Yet for the s3's there's no one saying that as far as I've seen in fact everyone praises the idea even the dsm guys and their FP greens etc have had the best of luck (yes i know bigger turbo but the idea is similar). It's not like the same big wheel that goes in the s3 goes in the stock turbo, they are both spec'd out for different wheels that are slightly bigger than the one they have. Is there any reason for this? I wish there was another 16g option for our cars besides s3 which is too much and hahn which I have yet to hear a good thing about.

 

i think frank was considering a 20g wheel in the stock turbo for his acr... frank?

the fpgreen was also huge on wrx's and sti's mainly because it was spooled below 3k. spooled up just like the disco potato turbo i had on my se-r... (t28/t4 hybrid)

i am looking in the direction of extrude honing the stock turbo, and maybe putting a 20g wheel. i gotta take my son to daycare. i cant drink fuel and risk any ridicolous damage.

i think 4drviper is selling his twin turbo setup for $3k.

 

there is a guy here that puts evo 3 wheels in the stock srt turbo housing. has been doing it since 04' still running great. puts down 380whp with supporting mods and meth. best thing is it is only $500-$600

 

has he thought about marketing it for srt's? Idk the specs of the evo 3 wheel off the top of my head but I wonder how it compares with the stock one and the one that fm and ptp uses

the shaft on the stock srt4 turbo is weak so that's the reason why some people call the big wheeled stock turbos time bombs and aren't ok with putting bigger wheels in them. Where as on the s3 turbo the shaft is stronger and therefore a reason why people are ok with putting bigger wheels in them

it is marketed. He is not able to tell me which company that he markets it to. But im pretty sure it is PTP V2 is the turbo that he makes. he can offer it to me for $500 because he doesnt add the extra on it as PTP would.

 

b/c i know a guy in FL does the upgrades for ptp
