I've got NT05's. Awesome tire. I don't expect they will last too long. First off they are soft, and second, they start out with 7/32" tread instead of the usual 10/32". On the other hand they are probably the absolute best performance tire for our cars without getting into something specialized like a full blown race tire for the course or street slicks for the track. On top of that the ride is excellent and they are extremely quiet. I'm running the stock size (255/45/20) so I don't know if there would be any issues with the 275's.
I am running them also, and I think they are aswesome! I am sure they will not last long, especially since I have found some new power!! No doubt they will be my replacement tire also!!
Mine will last a long time. Heve 450 miles on them in 7 months. lol. They're awesone tires. My 300 is lowered and has the 275's on the stock 9 inch wheels. No issues and hook great on the street with 500 rwhp.
I'm running them - the 255/45/20 front's & 275/40/20 rear's. I like them, I ran a 2-day Street of Willow event earlier this year. Had a chance to run Willow Springs (the big track) about a month ago (for $125. all day), before I went I dismount the tire, flip them, remounted & balance & put then on the opposite side (remember they are directional). They got some good wear from the small track and some good heat soak from the big track. They may have about 1500 - 1600 miles on them & they are REAL CLOSE to the wear bars. If I can get 1 or maybe 2 more (weekend warrior) track days on them or maybe 2500 - 3000 I think they will be done, after tne next event I will flip them again. My Opinion = good (cheap) price, LOTS OF FUN, I do not hear any or troublesome noise Remember these are consider an ' Ultra Performance Summer Tire ' Comment - I got 9K out of my Goodyear F1's 245/255's. Yes I would use the Goodyear F1's again, but for the price, I can get 1 & 1/2 sets (6 tires) of the Nitto NT 05's. With this in mind I may try the Bridgestone RE 11's (if they make a 20 inch)
Got the 275/40-20's installed today and drove home in traffic. I'm heading to the mountains tomorrow......woooohooooo!!! The tire guy asked why I was installing new tires as the Toyo's looked new!!
lol, 28 to 30... ok, try 32. They do heat up more than other tires. 3 to 4lbs under normal driving and they don't do so well cold or over inflated. Somebody over on lxforums (with a magnum at Laguna Seca) did some extensive track testing with them. Said they were best at surprisingly low pressure and second only to R compounds.
Hmmm.....who is that person with a Magnum who did extensive track testing....LMAO. I'll knock them down to 32 in the morning and try em out! Thanks for the heads up Dave!! :friends:
Haha, it wasn't me. I was only on Laguna Seca for the TE and those were F1s and they wouldn't let us go very fast. I could have taken my car one other time but all I had was worn out RSAs so I passed. It's on the tip of my tongue but I just can't think of his nick... RobAGD? does he track his car? Try 32, let em heat up (should gain 4lbs), then check to see how far over the shoulder you're scrubbing them. I'm guessing your going to drop it down from there. I don't know why but 26lbs sticks in my mind... that can't be right could it? I run mine around town at 28 (they heat up to 31) and they wear evenly.
hmmm... doesn't seem he like them. haha, it was someone else. They were non-plussed the first time they tracked them and then decided to give them another try sometime later and found they were running them with too much pressure and like them better. lol, if you don't hear what you want, just ask for some else's opinion
Well???? how'd it go? how'd it go? did you get the scrub marks right up to the bottom of the little triangles? better than the vreds? did you notice that they feel really soft but still transition quickly? any problems with the 275's up front? well??? well???
I never had issues with 275/40/20 all around. Several members are running this combo. Minor question... What is the speed rating on these Nittos? AN SRT8 is a high speed performance car so I would think the tires should be "Y" rated (186mph). I have seen a lot of tires that go from a "Y" to a "W" (168 MPH) or even a "V" (149mph) when they get too wide. IMHO.....I believe we should only upgrade our cars, not degrade them. No matter what our intended use is.... ..
Nitto NT05 255/45ZR20 101W B 275/40ZR20 XL 106W B The 275's should be a much better choice for our (heavy) cars with the XL sidewalls.
