    I thought I was...

Lots of people are moving on to other stuff. For a lot of them the initial "magic" or whatever has faded and they want something new or different. Nothing wrong with that. I get it.

I'm just still in love/lust with my Charger and can't imagine ever parting with her, but maybe that's cause I'm a girl or my parents were cheap and held onto cars forever. Or the fact that I've done and seen more in the relatively short time I've had the car than pretty much the rest of my life and 99.9% of it has been good to amazing to life-altering. But yeah, I get it. I remember after all when he was MustangSally or some such and only lusted after the SRT Charger in the window.

momo - having owned nothing but bmw's for the 10+ years prior to owning the charger, i can full well understand the excitement and commentary on how well built the bmw is. i have yet to sit in a car more well built and with the fit and finish of a bmw. hands down the highest quality cars i have ever owned or driven.

with that said.............. they sucked the life right out of me and turned me from a car guy to a........... nevermind......

bottomline, as a car they are great, but the ownership of the srt has been a truly life altering experience. can't imagine owning a bmw and having the urge to drive across the entire country to go and meet up with a bunch of guys to wear a bowling shirt exclaiming my queerness! lol

Well, I was pretty impressed until... "will it do a burnout?". and he had it rolling backwards before dropping the clutch. That was weak. Surely it can do a burnout without having it going backwards? wtf

Yep it can....I did one in first gear from a 15-20 mph roll. 414 hp and 3700 lbs....come on Dave!! The only thing that may inhibit it is the "stock" 140 tread tires! LOL

I knew it could certainly do a burnout.
I assumed Jay Leno could certainly do a burnout... maybe not?
So why would he roll it backwards? I'll bet he gets a lot of flak about that video.

I saw it and was like "WTF" also. But, I never thought I'd drive something that I could afford and think it would handle, drive, impress, that much more than my car...with all the suspension goodies...show's what I know! Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE my car. I went into work today telling folks I "may" be getting an M3 in the future. A buddy said "I'll buy your car...what do you want for it"......"$40,000 I said....LOL". I told him all I'm looking for is the Kelly Blue Book private sale amount....which is around $20K. I've got $10K in mods, but we all know that doesn't mean shit....just ask Ron or Tony when they were trying to sell theirs. Well, to each his/her own. I get what Tamara is talking about because I was as excited about the SRT8 as I am about the M3....but now I've driven both....and I get it! If Tam drove one she would too. I almost wish I hadn't....so would my wife!

base coupe about $58.5K? I get it with all the refinement and feel but... they're small. It's kind of like when I looked at a RX300 a few years ago. That even looked almost ok from the outside and when you climb in it the first thing that hit me (hard) was "it's small in here". I suppose it would be ok if you had a Raptor to go with it. Let's say you take Momo and Mrs. Momo somewhere. Is Momo going to fit in the back?

Nah, if I were going the status symbolly look at me I'm hot shit route, I'd be getting a M5 or M7. I like the Charger's sheer size, adds to the presence factor. It just adds to the fact that she's fun to drive. I know every time I go out to Willow Springs I get grief for the sheer size of the car, but I don't care. Half the fun is throwing her ass around the turns and leaving the lil' AWD's that were crawled up her rear in the dust on the straights. :)

You two are into the way it makes your ass feel in the seat, I'm into the whole freakin' experience.

Do you know how many times I've taken a couple out in any of my cars? ZERO. I've had my daughter and mother in both the Charger and BMW. Both provided plenty of room. The only difference now between my car and my wife's is that whenever I get back in my car I say "wow...it's really big in here"...not a bad thing. But, I'm not a "shill"...new term I've learned about quite a few forum members around....and bigger is not always better. I'm not knocking my car at all. It is a phenomenal car and plays to certain crowds. But, we all know I've not always fit in that well with the straight line crowd. Hell, I know Ralph and the other shills would love to not see posts by me any longer. Lord knows he needs the scene more than I do.

LMAO....while typing, my wife looked at me and said "you know, looking at you, sitting in you in your cigar smoking red leather chair, glasses, with a Mac computer, wanting an M3, no one would ever believe you're a SEAL."...."you have a chihuahua for God's sake"!!

I think I've found my car!! LMAO

Chris....do you have an ascot I can have?

As for the size issue, two average height folks can fit in back. I even climbed into the back of a coupe the other day just to be sure... It's not Charger big, but big enough if you get what I'm saying. It's much more spacious than say a Mustang rear seat.

The 3 series are family sized cars, meant to seat 4... Not 4 Rick sized Vikings, but Rick and 3 normal sized folks would be fine... The one sitting behind Rick would have to be shorter than average, however.

I know the BMW community isn't SRT8 in nature, but I've already met you folks so I don't need more car friends... You folks will always be my car people.

    I'd also like to add...

The SRT8s are GREAT cars that deliver what they always said they would and some. However, they don't handle as well as they could and unfortunatley my car has rattles with less than 24k on it. I'm not knocking our cars, they're great but not "perfect". Neither is BMW but they are better in some respects.

For example: I test drove a 335 with 64k on it. Zero rattles. Smooth as silk. Sure new they cost more than the srt8... But it shows why. The fit, engineering and overall quality is superior. Once again not bashing the srt8, it's just fact. Same way brembos are better than the brakes on an rt.

Ron... you need to look at the BMW 550I over 400 hp in a either a 6 spd manual or auto with paddle shifting (if you want) .. the new M3 has about 80 more hp, but a lot more weight... smg is refined in the new M3's. Mercedes are good road cars but they are a softer set up for handling compared to the BMW..

Cost 4 years $0 for the BMW.. can't beat that... after that find a good local independent shop.. they are worth their weight in gold..

Love my SRT even on the road course, but my E46 is way more fun to drive in the twisties... unless you like to really hang the tail out in the corners... w/rear tires smoking... than an SRT is real the choice..

Long trip I am taking the Mag.. BMW 3 series cannot compare..

Chris, I hear all that my friend... Like i said a post ago, Im not looking for community with anyother car. This is and will always be my community, regardless of what I drive... A Honda, a BMW or a srt8. I didn't stick around here because of a car... It was because of the personalities and folks I met. We helped eachother, joked and even argued... But... We are all still here. And that says something. You turds are my car people, like it or not! Lol

Ken, yeah a long roadtrip, you want as much space as possible... If more than 2 people, then LX all the way.

Mind you, we have a murano and that'd be the long roadtrip car... 335, like my srt8, would be the fun/spare car.

No thank you. I have owned a BMW in Germany. I have test driven the 335I, and M3, and an M5. The handling is AMAZING. Other than that, I was NOT at all impressed. Comfort zone for me was not there.

The MB is for Maureen and we are not at all interested in the road course type handling. The S550 would be for comfort and cruising. Besides, Maureen LOVES its looks. I hate the price tag. hahahahaha

Ron, yeah each car attracts it's own group of folks for a variety of reasons... A gem to some isn't to others.

And I am only busting balls... what you do with your money is none of my business. If you're really into the car or brand, then go for it. Life's too short to give a rat's heiney about other people's opinions. Though if you two turn up with ascots or freakin' sun visors, chops WILL be busted.
