I want to thank Wade ( CentralTexHemi ) for convencing me to try this method instead of doing my normal 50/50 mix. Ok i had 4 gals unleded VP 109 in 2 diff cans left over from last dec and this feb so i fig i better use it b4 it went soft with the oxy %. Im trying Wades way this time driving to the track with just as much gas to get there so i can run 100% race gas instead of my reg race & 91 gas mixes which is 98 octane + 4.05% oxy. Well i came up short as i ran out of gas about 1/2 mile from the track so i no now ill have 100% race gas. Let me tell you it was hot so i waited till it cooled down b4 i made the 1st pass and i after the 1st pass i fig ill wait 2.5 hrs to let it cool down. I only made 3 passes and i was really surpised with the times with the hi DA. Looking at the runs in this DA if you can run 100% race gas to get the full advantage of the oxygen%. Now remember i never touched the tune to take advantage of the new gas set up. The dyno CMR TUNE is from our CA low oxy% of 1.8 91 gas.

    Run 1 Race Gas VP 109 = 105 Octane With 6.3 Oxy%

Those are great times for only a CAI and gas, and I definately understand DA.

Just wanted to comment because I thought it was interesting. I called up VP Fuels today to buy some race fuel. They advised me to run 103 unleaded vs the 109. They said the 109 is fine if you are racing it that day and use it all but they told me it has a bad shelf life be it at home or left in the tank of the car. They recommened the 103 to me as its much more stable and has about a year shelf life.

I want to run race gas as my car is not my DD so Im sure I will leave the track with gas left in the tank.....

    just thought I would share

When i started the octane test i talked to the vp engineer and he said if you dont unseal the vp109 it will last 2 yrs and if you unseal it will last 1 yr. As you can see i had mine 10+ months in 1 of my gas cans not theres. There cans are ok as long as there unsealed but mine have closed vents and locks and i duck tape over the opening just to make sure the lock doesnt leak. vp109E and 103 both have less oxygen and from what they told me they wont make the hp vp109 does. vp109 is there highest oxygented unleded gas they have with 6.3%. What makes vp109 diff frome vp109E IS THE 109e HAS ETHANOL AND THE 109 HAS MTEB which give you higher oxygen and octane from what there engineer said.
