... so I was driving it to a nearby city for the swap to be done. They ended up being too busy so I've put it off for next weekend.

However, that's not what this is about. It's about driving the R/T after it being in the garage for almost an entire month without driving it.
The SRT is my daily driver, but for winter, I plan to use the R/T almost every day because of the temperatures and of course the wet weather with potential snowfall and all that. So, I took the car out and drove it for around 40 miles total.

I hate to say it, because I really love the car and it's been 100% trouble free in nearly three years of ownership, but it sucks to drive. It has heads/cam/headers/SRT wheels and looks amazing, but compared to the SRT, it's just so much "less". The SRT only has a 91 CAI canned Predator tune and an Airhammer intake (not even a Tstat yet) and it's way more responsive and of course handles much better and the seats are way better and the brakes are way better. Even with 30000 more miles and a much harder life, the SRT spanks the R/T in almost every way (wear and tear being the exception unfortunately). I'll probably have to admit that it's just stupid to have two 400+ HP RWD wagons, as cool as it is to have two Hemis. I'm paying around $100 per month for insurance on either car so having just one of them and use it all the time makes more sense financially. It's not even the money - I just hate seeing it sit there in the garage... and now that I will use it more, the SRT will just sit in the garage most of the time.

I don't know - it just dawned on me that the R/T is wasted as a garage queen - someone else would put it to better use. I bought it to keep it forever, but now that I have the SRT, I know I couldn't part with that one. It has more miles and needs some TLC where the R/T is in pristine condition and would probably sell for around the same price anyway.

    Ehhh....headache now.

Heh, If you sell the R/T think how much TLC you could give the SRT with that much cash... Since you were planning on keeping the R/T for life and it's costing you $100/month for ins you could add in another ... umm... 40 x 12 x $100 to that? With a couple of $100K to drop on the SRT you should be front and center next year at SEMA! :)

HaHaHa, BOY, do I know the feeling with my wife and I both have Two magnums each. I love both my SRT and R/T and drive the R/T the most and love the way it handles.... Up until just recently my R/T was MORE responsive than my SRT.... that is UNTIL I had the OLD computer programmed and added the Predator with 93 Octane canned tune and I too only have a Legmaker Hammer Design CAI and NOW the SRT really runs GREAT!

The ONE thing about the R/T that makes mine FUN IMO is the exhaust system and DMH electric cutouts. I did NOT want to modify my SRT in any way!

By the way.... we LOVE all our magnums; even the SXT (the flood car) since it is NOW running so darn good.

Wife and I have SEVEN cars on the road and pay $300 per month and YES four of them are our magnums. However we WON'T drive any of them in inclement weather..... just cruise around in one of our "clunkers"! LOL

I agree with Dave. Sell the R/T and fix/clean up the SRT, then mod the crap outta her. I'm sure you can get some inertia heads and SRT max cam for a great price lol.

Yeah - not sure what I will do. The R/T got its winter wheel/tire package installed today. 18' stock Magnum R/T wheels with Blizzaks FTW. Bring on the snow!! lol

Sell the R/T, buy a cheap winter beater, then with the left over money mod the SRT.
