Well, three times is a charm!

Off to CA in about a week or so to get it back to 100%.

Dude, I would love to do that!!! My wife should be with me so I'll run it by her but I think she will be all for it

Testes crossed for me Dan ;)

I love road-trippin' :) Ya, just getting back together.

    I will...oh, I will :)

I lifted a ring land and popped a piece off of #1 piston again, my fault this time. I think I did it racing in Douglas, WY...but the piece didn't pop off and fuck all my shit up until two weeks and many start-ups later. I fired it up to back out of the garage and big time misfire, closed plugs bla bla bla. We scoped it and sure enough, same spot as always...top of the intake valve relief. I changed plugs and it runs fine so I am driving it to CA for an inspection & repair.

LOL...I wish I could say I am missing a hose clamp or screw or something and it coincidentally knocked the weakest part of the weakest piston out :)

Jon, when yall pull it down, have Cam double check the ring gaps, my be to tight and once it closes, no more room for expansion and pop goes a piston. Just a thought.

Good luck with it bro...as always, rootin for a win!

BTW...i fixed my shit yesterday, running great.

Agreed...although I race with the engine builder and he assured me the ring gaps were bigger than they probably should have been. We'll see!

Glad you got your shit fixed dude!!!!!

    >:)

    Good luck, Jon!

And I'm confused, I thought Jon was in Wyoming (unless I'm thinking of someone else) and if so how is Albuquerque a detour? Unless this is some kinda Bugs Bunny style road trip?

D, the drop off trip will be a "drop-n-dash" I am driving all night to arrive at Cam-tastic's place in the morning. I am flying home on a 10AM flight. When I go get the car...that will be the fun time with no hurry or anything and I will be sure to give you some advance! I plan on hanging in/around Cam's shop for a week or so...you know, drinking all his liquor, giving advice, rearranging things for my comfort, drunk-test-driving whatever needs it, etc. I am a big help, you know...plus, I'm funny.

    LOL. I love Looney Tunes.

It's an extension of my drive home ;)

Thanks dude...Wish ure issue was as simple as mine was. I was lucky It happened while I was at idle. If it was at 6500rpm, I probably would have sent a push rod through the hood.
I changed all my rocker assemblies, changed oli/filter, and fired it up. Little loud initially in the valve train (expected) then settled in nicely after a few miles down the road.

Let's hope this is the last time you have to pull the motor out.

Too bad your not hanging around too long Jon.
BTW....I just had my engine rebuilt over at L&R here in SoCal......no more cold start knock...no more high oil consumption....after a few thousand miles all the cylinder wall look great with no side load evident.

Your in good hands with Cam.......I'll be heading to Sacramento this weekend to have Bob Crespo give the new configuration the final tune.

PS........dump the NAPA oil filter.....I was using them forever.....not any more!
