Has anyone heard if the new New Mopar Performance SRT-8 TCM will work with the Jeep. Right now it looks like it will just work with the LX/LY cars.

    Part number P5155177 Price: $339.00

Mopar has just released a 6.1L SRT-8 TCM. This tcm is currently the most aggressive 6.1L TCM on the market with the highest shift points and firmest shifts we've seen. Features optimized shift schedule and performance tuned AutoStick® calibration with the hold in gear. This feature will prevent the transmission from upshifting at redline RPM in AutoStick® mode, for sportier driving.

This has been out for awhile and from everything that I have heard and read this is not for the Jeeps and don't expect one. We are only 12000 and don't matter to Mopar on the aftermarket side. We were lucky to get an exhaust.

The 5.7 TCM has been out awhile, but the SRT TCM I thought was just released this month?

No, the 5.7L Mopar Performance TCM has been out for a while. The SRT8 TCM was just released this past week. Someone figured out how to make the 5.7L one work in an SRT, but now we have one specifically for the 6.1s.

I'm not sure about the computer architecture on the jeeps. If their PCM is the same generation controller as the LXs, I would bet it could be made to work.

I would still highly doubt it as your computer can be manipulated to raise shift points through the Diablo and ours can't even though the feature is there in the programmer. Until it says GC in the description of available vehicles, I wish the guinea pig good luck. Plus how are you going to tell a 2WD tcm that it is AWD TCM?

Immo, I know over on the other site Chris says he is using one, but he is running in 2WD. So if that is the case it probably won't work on a regular SRT.

2wd has nothing to do with anything, it will work for you. Oh yee of little faith, running in 2wd takes absolutely no electronic modifications. My Jeep is the same as any other.

So will the new TCM work with 08+ LXs?

I dont see any benefit of the higher shift points for the jeep we make less/no power past 5800rpms on the dyno so why would you want to go higher for no gains? The firmer shifts can be dealt with by a Diablo/CMR tune and going to MB solenoids if you get too crazy on the solenoids, increased line pressure your going to really torque that rear driveshaft and wear out the pinion bearing and seal.

Yeah I spoke to Ted they are not even out yet but they are taking oders (which I hate when they do that) he told me they were still in development and he had 10 back orders.

Line of people waiting for this I can see.

if you get too crazy? How exactly?
They blue tops have a static setting, unless you're drilling them out or something. There's no variability. I've had them for a while and we checked them rear while changing out my diff cover. Things are tight and good, not chewed or worn out, and that's with some umph in front of it.

WHAT!!!! Wade....that is not factual. The Jeep 6.1/392/426/440 are the same as the LX. If your running a small cam then yes no power is made beyond 6k but you can absolutely make more power past 6k. The limiting factor on ALL Gen3 hemis is the valve train not the fact that it is in a Jeep.

I said stock or near stock jeep, many dyno graphs show no gains in HP and TQ past 6k rpm on the dyno and you just echoed what I said " If your running a small cam then yes no power is made beyond 6k" I even went on further (on the red site) to say guys with internal work, heads, cam, 426, FI etc could benefit from this if in fact it does work. There is a benefit to this, holding higher rpm shifts and holding out 3rd gear through the traps would be nice.

    Blue tops

So does anyone know if this will work with the blue tops or will it basically do the same thing? Thanks, Bill
