I got the car yesterday and today I had some time in the afternoon to give it a slight detail and clean-up. The car of course gets dirty fast, but I was not prepared for just how disgusting the engine compartment was. The pics below are "after" pics. Among other things, the air intake box has SAND in it...and other places in the engine compartment have specks of sand as well. I know the original owner was in Florida and the car was there from new until May of this year so the original owner must not have cared very well for it in that respect... A new intake is on the agenda - at the very least a new air filter (filthy!)

    Details of the car:

    2006 Dodge Magnum SRT-8.
84500 miles. I'm the third owner.
Option Groups 1, 2, 3, sunroof and side curtain airbags (i.e. fully loaded for 2006)
The good: Runs great, body is in really good shape for the amount of miles, fast as hell (we knew that), just a beast all around.
The bad: Had a small accident early in its life, navigation joystick is broken, some parts of fascia not in perfect alignment, the interior has slight smell of smoke I need to work on, small tear in rear seat, plastic trim underneath driver's side front window is really faded from the sun.

It's not a garage queen by any means, but I'll take as good care of it as I can.
I hope to do a "refresh" around 100k miles. Maybe add a cam, clean everything up in the engine and give her a fresh start. Right now I'm focusing on the must-dos and we'll see.

Now on to the pics - the car was washed two days ago, so today I just went over everything with a detail spray and tried to clean it up as much as possible with the little amount of time I had: (sorry for crappy iPhone pics)

If you know your way around, with a DA buffer, you can bring that paint back to life no problem. A little paint correction (my assumption is it's never had one) can make that baby better than new! As for the engine bay, it looks pretty good, but a little degreaser, a little bit of water pressure, a blow dry, and some Adams polishes "in & out" spray, and it'll look like she just rolled off the showroom floor!! Overall she looks pretty damn good though!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)

LOL, not a bad idea as far as I'm concerned.....

We have the 06 SRT, an 06 SXT, and two 05 Hemi's!
(Nope, no SE, and NO 2.7's)
