Tomorrow, Tee has to take me back to the VA Hospital in Durham, NC to see my Urologist for my 1st official cancer check up after my six weeks of radiation treatments of last NOV and DEC. Seems to me I'm doing OK. Only problem I have had since that time is getting sick every couple of weeks and it usually only last one day. Guess this comes with the territory. I can live with that! Just hope my PSA numbers are down where they should be! Wish me luck!
Had bladder cancer myself and now 5+ years in remission. Nerve wracking to say the least. Wish you the best!
Thanks so much for the kinds well wishes and it sure musta helped!!! Met with the Urologist @ the VA Hospital in Durham at 1pm today and my FIRST QUESTION was "What do these latest PSA numbers mean and what can I tell my family and friends? His answer: Tell them you are CANCER FREE!!! Wow, was expecting that and sure takes a load off my mind! Thanks to you all for thinking of me ~ Needless to say ~ I'm VERY HAPPY!!! UPDATE: At 5:15 pm today got a call from the Urologist and he said: "Your blood work from today just came back and your PSA number has risen; not to be alarmed; however we will want to see you again in SIX MONTHS to insure it does NOT continue to rise!" I guess this is still very good news: A huge smile just turned into a smaller smile ~ Thats all!
Great to hear. I had good news, bad news today. My A1C was 6.7 this time, they want in under 7.0, even though my blood sugar was 152 on my last fasting blood test. My rotator is tendonitis with calcium deposits. Prescribed physical therapy. My PSA was only 2.0, and needs to be under 4.1 The bad news is they saw some nodules in my upper chest in the shoulder x-rays. They said they are probably benign, but want a couple of chest x-rays to see what is going on.
I myself have had issues with thyroid cancer X fingers been in remission for 2 years. I feel for you, and will keep you in my prayers. I see you are near Durham, I lived in Durham myself on Hope Valley Road for 2 years met Janell and moved to Utah, was member of Triangle Mopars for just a bit moving kinda killed that lol. I hear you on the A1C mine was over 12 last test and fasting was 500. I'm on so much medication I call my pill organizer Skittles after the fun colors, oh the joy
Thanks again guys and gals.... still with a nice smile. My wife Tee and I decided we'd celebrate a little and went to a benefit Cruise in Taylorsville, NC today. WOW, was it packed.... well over 200 cars! Took a very few pictures of some I liked! Only had 5 LX cars there; OUR two magnums, our friends Charger and two more challengers! However we got some VERY nice comments on our rides and had a total BLAST! Made up a small slide show of the event... http://s848.photobucket.com/albums/ab44/TEEPUD/?action=view¤t=6e0293a0.pbw
