I pulled a BMW this evening on I25 south. I was in the middle lane, in front of a truck and picked up a BMW on the passenger side closing fast from the rear. Since there was nobody ahead and I was approaching the big I I figured I see if I could catch up to him as he passed. Not only did I catch up, he never got past the back door. I was all the way in it and watching him inch up but he couldn't make it. Finally we backed off. Yolanda said she thought we were between 130~140 but wasn't sure. Either way it was a good run. Wish I knew what kind it was. I'd like to know what those things are capable of.
M-series (they look just different from their slower counterparts), two-door, four door, late model? I ask because I see like oceans of BMWs out here. They're like how Toyota Camrys and Ford Rangers were back in TN.
wish I knew, it was twilight, dark car, never got a good look at it. I just saw the headlights. I looked at some pics online to try and place it but still couldn't pic one out. It was right there with me for a few sec so whatever it was was reasonably fast.
there are many that can hang with a stock srt right now, it could have been any 7 series, 550i, 335i, and of course the Ms.
M6's are far from slow at any speed. 515hp and 3800 pounds, they move pretty well. Probably a M5 or 6 to do so well with your S/C'd SRT.
I ran across this thing in Cincinatti and it was every bit as fast as my 426...I even took a picture of it I was so impressed.
Quick hijack... Not sure Kyle...I still have a pulse like a cyl is not firing as I inch up to stop signs, etc. No more codes, and I'm not sure some of the codes weren't stored when I first started it up. The car runs too good to be missing as I drive and I assume HAL would let me know if I had a misfiring cylinder or whatever. Just weird.
Ya, just noisy. No specific or rhythmic clicking or anything, but an in general noisiness that sounded like a solid lifter cam that needed to be adjusted a little tighter. Once again, thanks again for the hijack OP.
M6 not a M3, 550 or 335I??? M6 has the V10 motor & while the 6, 550 series & M3 has a 414 hp V8 with either a 6 spd manual or 7 spd DCT, (M3 weighs in at about 3700 lbs for the coupe/sedan) while the 335I is turbo rated at 300 hp same weight ... both similar body styles..(M series have a wider wheel track).. But some non M owners will get the decals, wheels, wide body kits and try to pose as a M.. My M is not great off the line but once I am in to second she will hold her own against most stock stuff out there.. but when comes to breaking and handling.. it is a whole new ball game.. I have said previously I love my M SRT and will take it on the long drives over my BMW(s E46 & E92) any day of the week and my Maggie does well for a 2 ton vehicle.. but for my track days (road courses) - the M comes out to play unless it is places like Willow Springs where you can really unwind the turns.. (everyone west of the Mississippi knows I cannot drag race worth a dam... so I don't even try that)
I believe it was a reference to the Prius thread (you must have missed that gem). They will kick anybody's ass from 0-6.
