I just got thru watching the first episode.this is a good car show n im gonna try n catch every episode.next week,camaro vs. mustang.

 

What channel Kyron?? Haven't heard of it?? Sounds like something I'd love to DVR. Help a brutha out......

since when is a Camaro and a Mustang considered a "Super" car? lol

That's like classifying a Honda and Toyota has Muscle cars...

When there doing 190mph in the standing mile that puts them in the supercar section

 

still not a Super Car. I can put my car to 190 in the standing mile and it is not a Super Car...

 

^ prove it cause both those cars were 1000hp

 

I just read a Popular Mechanics articles where a 540 HP GT500 (dynoed 489 rwhp) went 184 (max) on the Utah salt flats and it took 3 miles to get the last 30 MPH.

To get to 190 in one mile is no joke.

 

The Camaro was Turboed and the Mustang was Supercharged. The faster boost on the SC ran all over the Turbo.
In the running 60 to 130 race the Mustang won by 5 car lengths.

The newer "Batlle of the Supercars" episode was a Porche 997 TT against a Nissan GTR.

Took me a little over 2 1/2 miles to get to 186. Still pulling but a damn Semi came up quick. lol

I was making a point. I don't care how much HP you throw at a Mustang, Camaro, Neon, Charger, Challenger, Corvette (you get the point)...

They are NOT a Super Car. Not even in the same league.

Altitude = 6800'

This was measured out around 3/4 of a mile. Was a standing start. Start point was a little loose due to gravel. The rest of the road was wavey with one slight bend (probably not much to make any difference though)...

So yea, 156 mph in a 2+ ton car at over a mile high elevation...

oh yea, and at this time, there was no tuning. I had the crappy piggy back ecu with Aux injectors...

Still NOT a super car.

 

The only American car I might class as a true supercar is a Corvette Z06 or ZR1.

LFA is an ass kicker... buddy... if you can get your hands on one... and have big $$$ in the bank... well maybe out of context as the LFA is a Lexus (but Toyota is the parent company...)

 

The LFA (520hp + AWD) is nice, but, I heard it will have a sticker of $350K. Out of the 1500 being built only 300 are coming to the US & they are to be leased with option to buy.

My US Super Car would have to be the Ford GT (ZR1 yes, Zo6 no)

And Ron, no matter how fast you go ... you do not have a Super Car

PS ... I heard than they wanted that wine glass to break with the exhaust note, that, they would do it even if they had to record it in a sound studio and play it back ...
