Got mine when BT first started making/distributing them. Keep it in the glovebox so hopefully I'll never need it. Since it usually works out where its on the other side of the planet when you do need it. Darn pink thingy.
LOL...naaa, no breaking. I had a factory DVD player installed today and just had the tech do this too as he was in/around the console anyway. I have had the billet one so long I have lost it twice for months at a time. I thought of you as you said you were trying to break yours for quite some time...LOL. Me too. The dealers just replaced the shifter when this happens so the tech had never seen this before...he said that spring on the tab is like a garage door spring compared to the size of the cute little tab. But if that little tab breaks on THIS piece, I don't think a screwdriver gets you going (I may be wrong but there is another pink piece that you can get around if it breaks by removing the coin cubby and poking a screwdriver in there.) This sucker is beneath your shifter drive letters.
The one I've got is for one the car will not shift out of park because of a broken pink thingy. Darn Chrysler and their stealth pink thingys. Wait, I'm getting profiled in an article thanks to Chrysler. Nevermind, I heart Chrysler! :whistle:
Tam, get on LX and search for the threads. There is a pink piece you can see if you remove the change holder and use a flashlight. If that one breaks, you can use a screwdriver to get you going. It seems to me that piece was NOT this one I pictured in the first post where I was showing off my new fingernails. I may be so full of BS but I thought there were two different potential parts to break, both pink. The most common is the the piece BT made in aluminum.

AFAIK, the only different than stock part if made by Billet Technology, and it is made out of aluminum. I looked for a pic in my Photobucket folders but don't see one.
